the grand old party is threatening not to participate in the networks rigged presidential debates. where you have the republican nominee going against the democrat nominee.
they will most certainly debate amongst themselves.
please, explain how “networks” rigged the debates
they were hosted by the Commission on Presidential Debates, which is jointly sponsored by the DNC and RNC
the three moderators were from fox news, nbc, and usa today (the last of which was a frequent panelist on fox news)

If the GOP candidate looks like the unqualified nitwits they sometimes are then the moderators were "against them" and the whole process is rigged.
What it is "rigged" to do is make unqualified people look unqualified.

Does anyone remember the Obama-Romney “Please proceed Governor” moment? The Republicans hone their skills hitting softballs from sycophants that they are completely lost when challenged by real issues and instant fact checking. Cowards! Chicken Man should make an appearance at every Republican campaign event.

right?
he's even older than Biden!
what we need is a virile young buck like Trump.
for real though, I wonder how well a progressive platform would really do among voters, especially if we could couple them with a candidate under 800 years old...

the progressive platform only appeals to the young people. and we know the young people don't vote. so, not so well.

I don't want a 35 year old. But also don't want an 80 year old who might die before his/her term is up.
I think we can find a happy medium.

I think Bernie's platform is too progressive and would further alienate portions of the country. And he is way too old. There is a zero % change I would vote for him in a primary.

that reminds me of a hot take my conservative fishing buddy offered the other day:
"Honestly, I can get behind much of Bernie's positions on stuff like putting checks on corporate power and evil rich people greed, but where he looses me is with all the socialist crap too."

bernie may run. bernie should run. it wouldn't be the same without him. he has less than a zero chance. but is is fun having the blubbering old involved in the process.
as long as bernie is alive he should run.

What is not appealing about the 'progressive' platform?
"Advancing justice, dignity, and peace for all.
Advancing the right of every American to retire with security and dignity. Ending poverty and income inequality and securing a living wage for all people. Protecting the fundamental right to organize. Ending mass incarceration and advancing equal justice under the law."

Stop with confusing Illy and Mich with facts. They won’t tell you who should run and why they would support the candidate. They’ll just throw meaningless platitudes about why someone isn’t suitable, and for no policy reasons.
The broader media do it to drive a horse race narrative. These two just parrot versions of it

I think one reason one may not find that progressive platform appealing, is they’re some classist type who LIKES poverty and inequality, whether they consciously realize it or not.
Where else are they supposed to get a sense of self-worth, if not by looking down their nose at the poors?

speaking from experience? You certainly get at least a portion of your self worth by standing on your unachievable, fantasy island of a utopian pedestal.

You’re basically describing ~70% of straight white male Americans. It’s their birthright
