Here me out.
3 scenarios in which the Bears are probably not going to do any of them but I would be fine if they did any of the 3.

1. Personally, I hope they keep Fields. They know what they are getting with him and he's "serviceable".
Trade the #1 for the #3 and third rounder in 24 and and whatever else they can get.
Assuming he's still there - draft Harrison with #3. Trade the #9 for a mid 1st rounder and that team's 2nd rounder in 2025 and 3rd rounder in 2026. Draft whomever mid 1st round. Trade the 3rd rounder and the 3rd rounder in 2026 for a late 2nd rounder. Take whomever. Go from there.

2. Trade Fields for a 2nd and 4th rounder. Take Williams #1. With the #9 take whoever is left between Nabers and Odunze. Go from there.

3. This one is mind blowing but Bears like. Trade Fields for a 2nd and 4th rounder. Trade the #1 for 5, 6, 7 and whatever else they get.
With the 5,6,7, draft McCarthy (or Maye if he's still available). Trade the #9 for 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16 and whatever else they can get. Draft Thomas Jr.

1. I think the Pats will be conservative with what they would send to move up 2 spots. For all we know, they may prefer the other 2 guys over Caleb Williams. I also don't think with new management they want to give up any capital this season...but if they liked Caleb then you'd get more than their 3rd this season for that move. I'd do this if I could get the 3rd like you said and another 3rd next season.

2. It's possible both those dudes are gone by 9. If you could trade Fields for a 2nd and a 4th i'd also do this. He may just fetch a 3rd and another later pick though.

3. I think you'd be able to get McCarthy lower than 7.

Watch Russ sign with the Raiders for significantly lower than his market value.
Broncos paying for their quarterback to play for a rival.

Russ as locker room cancer makes sense for the Raiders.

Bills starting to feel the pain.
Release one of their starting safeties who was an all pro 2 seasons ago.

And their center who was a Pro Bowler 2 seasons ago. And will be releasing Pro Bowl corner Tre White after June 1st. They are going to be gutted. And I don't even know if all these moves even cleared enough space to allow them to sign all their draft picks in the upcoming draft, let alone find replacements for these players.

Makes you savor just how special this run by the Chiefs is in the world of the salary cap.

The Broncos are releasing star safety Justin Simmons. He was 2nd team All Pro last season.

There is some crazy good talent out there in free agency. By league rules, all teams have to be under the cap with their top 51 salary cap charges by the time free agency officially opens next week so there are likely a lot more great players getting cut before free agency opens.

The thing is the Chiefs are the most sure playoff team ever going in to next year.

Things could not have worked out better.

Denver who finished tied for second in our Division just burned themselves to the ground. They cooked for this year and next.

Raiders have no QB and really don't see how they getting one.

Chargers who were all in finished 5-12 fired the coach and are in cap hell. Smart move is to cut bait and start rebuild with new coach.

So we in the playoffs for sure no doubt.

We also learned this year we can win without the luxury of byes and home games in the playoffs.

Also most important we can win with a top 3 defense and Mahomes.

So we have five defensive starters in free agency and we will not be able to keep them all.
We going to most likely take a step back, how much depends on Chris Jones.

But we can get so much better on the offensive side of the ball it will more than compensate for any drop in the defense.

Mahomes needs weapons. Last year we had Kelce.......rookie WR and............a 7th round RB.

We can sign guys in free agency knowing we need one thing. Them to be 100% healthy for the playoffs.

I guess. But - and maybe I just didn't watch enough Eagles games - that didn't seem to be the problem?

Eagles gonna eagle?

They've got to do something to reduce wear and tear on Hurts by running him so much. There are worse ways to do it I suppose.

Barkley behind that line ( though…no Kelce ) will be studly.
I don’t think I’d invest that much on Barkley.

I don't think any RB is worth that amount.

Good for him. The Chiefs weren't going to pay that for him so KC never had a shot. Bummer.

4.8 million this season for Ekeler.
That might be worth it in our offense.
Serves as a steady set of hands, use him like a WR. I’d have paid him that.

We just can’t make any moves really until either we trade Sneed or Mahomes restructures.

Swift was very productive, was Barkley cheaper? Bears signed Swift for $18M three years guaranteed.
