So marginal nfl talent should play in the Fluffer Bowl?
Agreed.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 10:27 am"why should top NFL draft prospects play for playoff teams"? They probably shouldn't. But none of KU's draft eligible players are "top NFL draft prospects". None of them are first round picks. They can't afford to skip anything. They should all be doing every rep they can to ensure they get drafted as high as possible.Back2Lawrence wrote: ↑Mon Nov 25, 2024 4:37 amI agree they deserve another game. Beat Baylor and we have one.
The real question should be do NFL prospects play in a worthless bowl?
I was talking to a buddy the other day and I’m curious if NIL agreements have any condition of playing in all games you’d be available for. We all know man6 have recently chosen to forego Bowl games. Why should the likes of Dotson, Bryant, Neal play in the Z-Man with extra Cheese bowl presented by Quilted Northern?
A bigger than KU question is why should top NFL draft prospects play for playoff teams. Ultimately, the money here is small potatoes for these guys. And lol @ ‘they are competitors at heart’ (they are,but potential generational wealth seems much more alluring than any college glory)
In my opinion if they are healthy, yes. Seems like a great opportunity to display your talent, a team-first attitude and a confidence to be willing to bet on yourself. But everyone's different so who knows.Back2Lawrence wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 11:32 am So marginal nfl talent should play in the Fluffer Bowl?
I've wondered lately, why couldn't some bowl just say "hey, we'd rather have KU than this other team with more wins than them because we think KU is better and will be more exciting/make us more money"...?Back2Lawrence wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 8:37 am For selfish fan reasons, I’ll state again…not knowing if this is possible. KU should get Nebraska in a bowl game would they win against Baylor
They can, but conference tie ins are conference tie ins.DeletedUser wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 10:26 amBack2Lawrence wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 8:37 am For selfish fan reasons, I’ll state again…not knowing if this is possible. KU should get Nebraska in a bowl game would they win against Baylor

Yes. They made a commitment to the team, coaches, and university. If they don't play, take away the benefits provided by the team and sponsors yadda yards.Back2Lawrence wrote: ↑Wed Nov 27, 2024 11:32 am So marginal nfl talent should play in the Fluffer Bowl?
This would be a "feel-good" game, to me. I'd love it.Back2Lawrence wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 8:37 am For selfish fan reasons, I’ll state again…not knowing if this is possible. KU should get Nebraska in a bowl game...
Someone mention Nebraska? The school that grabbed the AD from Washington (who was at Washington less than a year) and has built this?Back2Lawrence wrote: ↑Thu Nov 28, 2024 8:37 am For selfish fan reasons, I’ll state again…not knowing if this is possible. Most that I can remember…though it kinda comes close to Manginos last season with a senior Reesing and Briscoe.
( we started that season with 5 wins and then lost 7 in a row )
