I texted my sister and brother-in-law, Colonel Illiniwok on Saturday. I asked them if they got the weird cryptic email Friday morning from OPM on Friday morning. My sister said "yes", all it really said was "test" and "reply with "yes" if you received this."
She said it pretty much shut down the DOD on Friday morning as everyone was asking up and down the chain of command if this was real. Do we have to reply? Is it safe to reply? How did they email 3,000,000 of us simultaneously and get all of these emails into one list?
So pretty much 3,000,000 federal employees in one somewhat important federal department went into a state of panic and shut shit down for over an hour trying to figure out WTF? Remind me, what does DOGE stand for?
Then she wanted to know, how did you hear about this?
Well, millions of people outside of your media bubble heard about it Friday. It was in my newsfeed.
Yes, Colonel Illiniwok voted for trumpty plumpty because he thought, "he would be better for the economy." My sister disagreed. Both of them work remotely for the DOD. It's about time for them to start showing up at the office or retire early.
Sieg Heil!
Imagine expecting people to show up at work and you the jobs they are bringing paid to do.
The nerve!
I say this knowing multiple people who work remotely and regularly use work hours to shop, cook, clean, run errands, etc., all of whom insist that they “still get everything done,” but who balk at the notion that they can “get everything done” and be available to help with other things if their focus is on work at work.

The IP address that shows up with some of your shitposts is 198.109.XXX.XXX, you aren't fucking off at your job at the college are you?
Isn’t blessing us all with his charm a form of therapy?
I suppose, but you would have to ask his employer if this fits under the category of "public outreach" that they support.

Also lol at a teacher of psychology ( at a possible religious school? ) talking about 9 to 5 hours.
1.) Doxxing is kind of against the rules of these boreds, is it not?
2.) My job spans much more than M-F 9 to 5. There are always night classes, late night texts and emails to be answered from students, grading, lesson-planning, and committee work, all of which take well beyond 40 hours a week. Even for a piddly, meaningless, insignificant job like mine.

1. You have told us you're a teacher of psychology. I was guessing at a religious school because of how much you defend Christianity. So no, that's not doxxing.
2. My mom was a professor. I get this. She'd teach like four or five classes a semester. So 15 hours give or take of class time with students. Then office hours. But also, she'd lesson plan or grade at home, and put a load of laundry in, or boil some water to get prepped for dinner. There's plenty of time in a professors schedule to fit these things in. So eye roll at your 9 to 5 be in the office doing work the entire time you are there.

Generally teachers/professors are over defensive when you even imply that maybe, just maybe, they have a more casual work routine than others in different fields.
It's just a thing.

Is it just me or does it feel like someone is anxious about their on-line activity?
To be clear, I can not see psych's IP address for his posts.
But maybe I guessed the first 6 numbers correctly? Maybe I could guess the last 6 correctly as well.
I lied, but lies are OK these days, right?
I suspect many DOD and other Fed employees are kinda anxious about their jobs these days. A lot of farmworkers are kinda anxious about their jobs these days. A lot of farmers are kinda anxious about their loan payments these days. A lot of trans people are worried about whether or not they can use their current ID and passports to board a plane these days.
It's all lulz until it affects you.
You know who isn't worried? Eloon, trumpty plumpty, Putin, MSB, Peter Thiel...

Then you also understand that these are accepted conditions of the job when a contract is signed, which is why we don't get paid Overlander bucks. There's also expectation of service to the profession and community, not to mention research, publishing, and presentation expectations. Since I'm an administrator and teach an overload, I have plenty to do. Not complaining, just stating facts.

I'm jumpy because of past experiences on earlier iterations of these boreds (when the were still associated with KUSports).
Case in point, someone who is no longer here, doxxed me, found my profile pic on the school website, made it their profile pic on the boreds, and added the name and location of the school as their tagline. It took the mods weeks to take care of.
Another used that information to Google my name and address and send me PMs about knowing where I lived and where my kids went to school. They threatened to "drop by" when in the area, alluding to the possibility that they could do so "when you're off at work and your wife and kids are alone."
Sorry if I don't find that kind of "kidding around" humorous.

I'm not complaining. It is my chosen profession. It comes with the territory. It is what I agreed to do when I accepted the job. I knew what I was getting into, and I can choose to get out of it if I can't deal with the expectations.
My point was that many of these Federal employees took these jobs with the understanding that they would work onsite. The Plandemic derailed that for awhile, but, contrary to what many of them are claiming, they don't have a "right" to work from home, especially if their initial job description was not a work-from-home arrangement.
Rights and preferences are not the same thing, contrary to popular sentiment.

Let's stop calling it a plandemic because it infers the pandemic was some sort of deep state conspiracy and was orchestrated. It was not.
Doxxing is definitely not allowed.
Report it and i'd take care of it.

Additionally, what the pandemic have taught us is that a 'one size fits all' work schedule is counter intuitive. Each business should have the ability to determine its own effectiveness and also be able to work with employees so that unnecessary trips to the office could be minimized.
In terms of full remote workers, I understand that having someone with the ability to come into the office when needed makes sense -- but again, that shouldn't be one big blanket demand. It should be decided by each branch at each level by administrators and position heads.
