Do they keep bringing you the endless pasta even if the family murders you?

Cuz that’d be a shame if the endless pasta ends just cuz you got whacked.
I got endless pasta at an olive garden once. It was probably like 15 years ago.

I finished my first plate, politely asked for a second, and the waiter looked at me like I had three heads. I'm not sure if it was his first day, or whether they have endless pasta but no one ever gets a second helping (seems unlikely based on the clientele). You'd have thought I asked him help me bury a body or something.

I honestly felt like the most gluttonous piece of shit who ever lived. I don't ask for bottomless/endless anything anymore unless it's offered now. Endless fries at red robin?...only if the waiter offers them.

speaking of bottomless (or lack thereof)…what’s with the mexican joints that don’t offer bottomless chips and salsa?

Yeah, and stop using the funnel display of chips, we know you aren't giving us a lot of chips, just put them in a bowl.

What I love are the places that are aggressive about refilling waters, like anytime it is less than 80% full they come by to top you off.

That first bowl of chips and salsa as soon as you walk into a Mexican joint is so clutch.

Chip/salsa refills are good too but by then you prob should have a lot of other spicy carbs to worry about.

The main endless dining option I’ll do any more is hot pot, at which I’ll shamelessly put down about 6000 calories worth of shaved meats and exotic veggies.

hot pot?

is that like Brazilian bbq? we’ve got a few of those (Tucano’s and Rodizio), and by far my favorite thing is the grilled pineapple…despite all the endless meats

Hot pot is an Asian style of dining. I’ve had it a couple places with a couple variations but basically you sit at a table with a giant boiling pot or bowls of soup/broth of your choosing, then order shaved meats and veggies and noodles and such, and then you get to cook them all right there in the pot on your table.

It’s closer to Korean BBQ in that you cook it right at your own table. I haven’t done Brazilian BBQ in a long time, but I think I went to liek a Fogo de Chao or something once? And they bring various meats around and slice them off for you at the table? That’s good too but kinda different experience

My wife loves the pineapple and gets pissed that they don't come around with it enough.

Hot pot has been a Chinese method of cooking/dining for 1000's of years.

The flavors just hit different too.

Extra thin sliced wagyu cooked medium rare in a spicy miso broth for like 8 seconds, then 8 more seconds from the time it comes out the broth to the time you devour, yum!

Well at the very least, we’re not cooking low and slow with indirect heat, cuz we have another thread for that.

Grilled pineapple, diced jalapenos, minced ginger, and lime juice. Mix them together and put it on fish tacos. You're welcome.
