But that lame assed call. Illegal man down field. Really? They trot that out strategically.

I hate that penalty as much as I hate illegal formations, shifts etc... dumb rules.

Disagree hugely that it’s a bad rule. Lineman allowed downfield on pass plays would be undefendable plays.

Except he wasn't downfield. Maybe a small step.

If it were a Bills lineman, you would acknowledge he was about 2 yards off the LOS when Mahomes threw it.

The point, though, is it’s a good rule. Not having the rule would be more unfair than pick plays, which should also be called tightly.

Curious also as to how illegal formation is a bad rule?

The bad rules are the ones selectively enforced. Like the pick play, etc. The downfield call should take into consideration if it impacts the play. Rarely does

Who freaking cares if some is standing on the line or if they are just off it in some illegal "formation? The only formation rule so be that everyone stands behind the line of scrimmage. It just limits creativity for no necessary reason.

Would the Chiefs be more fun or less fun to watch with that type of rule?

More.

End of discussion.

Chiefs are covering passes like the Jayhawks were this week.

Yeah, you can't call a timeout there at the one. NFL not going to call holding in the end zone which means Allen had 6seconds to progress through reads.

Every catch was by a wide open receiver. They just let them move right on down the field.
