Good job, egg-pricers. You have handed the country to the billionaire technocrats you claim to hate.
The bulk of Apple and its affiliates’ contributions to congressional and federal candidates went to Democrats, with 88% and 89.2% of the total amount of dollars, respectively, Open Secrets data shows.

The bulk of Amazon-affiliated contributions to congressional and federal candidates went to Democrats — around 68% of the total amount of donated dollars, per OpenSecrets.

The bulk of the [Meta] contributions to congressional and federal candidates went to Democrats — around 78% of total dollars donated.

I'm afraid this country being handed to billionaire technocrats is more than just a partisan issue.

but...fuck it. Let's blame the folks who wanna do things like, eat breakfast!
Just stop.

There is NOBODY making the argument that you're setting this straw man up to attack as a representative.

Wut?

I kinda figured I prob shouldn’t bother in the first place, considering how silly it sounds to blame “egg-pricers” for the country being handed to billionaire technocrats.

Now I’m a tad intrigued by this straw man tho.

But yea, prob shouldn’t bother.

as often as something akin to this is said, you might consider actually following through

Show me ANYONE who is making the argument that the degree of billionaire technocrat influence on our politics was good and desirable yesterday, but not today.

And if you are able to find that person, go argue with them, where they are making that argument.

You're just SO horny to bothsides everything - to call absolutely everything a partisan issue, to commit to false equivalence after false equivalence - that it has blinded you to even the existence of degrees of things.

This apple over here is a bit soft and has a brown spot; that orange over there has been sitting in the sun for so long that it has molded over and is growing legs.

But to you, both pieces of fruit are rotten, and so an apples-to-oranges comparison works.

OK, this is actually pretty good commentary now.

If a voter/pols board poster here is instead metaphorically a patron at a breakfast diner, and ordered a dish with a side of fresh fruit, and got served soft brown apple plus moldy leggy orange, I think the appropriate response for a voter to make would be something other than to send back the orange but stubbornly slurp down soft brown apple anyway while maintaining, "well at least it ain't growing legs!"

Either way, that apple is prob gonna give the runs to anyone who eats it...short of, like vultures and crocodiles and other creatures from the animal kingdom with stomachs designed to ingest rot.

Now, as far as "bothsides everything," yea, I do do that, I suppose. Cuz I think both sides are rotten here!

What I don't do tho, is call absolutely everything a partisan issue.

That's what I'm afraid you're doing here, by trying to shame voters who hesitate to pick and choose what amount of fruit rot should be rejected, and what amount of fruit rot should be eaten anyway, as if the apples and oranges aren't both rotten.

(oh, and picking and choosing what amount of fruit rot is acceptable here sounds like it could be less some objective conclusion and more a matter of opinion, and as such, quite prone to partisan bias)

and that's not even to get started on whether this fruit was served as the side on an egg dish!

That an opinion is related to partisanship does not make it partisan.

Yes, it is my opinion that of the two viable candidates for the office, one of them was like an apple that is a bit soft and has a brown spot, the other like an orange that has been sitting in the sun for so long that it has molded over and is growing legs.

And, in the frame of that opinion, yes, I believe that one who would select the orange is making a demonstrably-worse choice than someone who would select the apple.

What would be partisan is if the roles were reversed, and I selected the apple-with-legs over a modestly overripe orange, because I am blinded by my preference for apples over oranges.

That is, essentially, MICH.

see, that's the thing!

the MICH crowd just as quickly says "but who cares if this orange is modestly overripe cuz it's the apples side that's the more rotten"

that makes all this sound more like subjective partisan team sports.

that's why it just seems silly to be like, "so what if billionaire technocrats had dems in their pockets previously, cuz now that they're going to church with pubs I'm gonna scapegoat 'egg-pricers' "

and for the record, i’d gladly vote 3rd party (even for someone like West) if they actually had a chance in hell

that just isn’t reality within our current system and political environment, no matter how much you stomp your feet

i, personally, i’m more than happy to not let perfect be the enemy of good…pragmatism is how things get done in a country as large and diverse as this

though, moral performative outrage seems more fun for some

I guess it's a matter of how exactly you define the "egg-pricers" demographic, and such.

But, as I tried to suggest, I think billionaire technocrats had the country handed to them far before "egg-pricers" was even a demographic, and far before one party or another took office.

My opinion - and I think it is a rational and well-supported one, but of course I do - is that we are now under a much stronger and better-entrenched oligarchy than we were two months ago.

That statement is NOT, I should not have to say, a statement that things were fine two months ago.
