Wonderful. These two jackasses do this crap right when things are looking up:
Lawrence police arrested Trevor L. Wilson, 21, of Tallahassee, Fla., and Tanaka Artisma Scott, 20, of Lawrence, shortly after 12:30 p.m. Thursday in the 2300 block of Haskell Avenue, according to the booking log. Both men are suspected of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, which is a felony. Their first appearances in Douglas County District Court are scheduled for Friday.

Is this Leipold's kind of first test with this kind of stuff, right?

Dumbasses. My guess is suspension until the charges could be dropped or if it goes further, they'll be removed from team. Both guys were going to play a lot, too.

Makes me wonder if they had the day off. Their practice goes early in the morning, and then followed by film study and all of that.

I think they'll be gone. LJ Arnold, Emilien, Grimm, McBride, Skinner and Kevin Terry are going to be the WR core. That's pretty weak. Be ready for even more of a run-heavy team.

Absolutely, this is the first time he'll have dealt with this here. Not only that, but Trevor Wilson was his guy he had a super close relationship with at Buffalo that he brought here.

Obviously makes a super thin WR group even thinner. Funny, the KU Football Twitter account just posted a minute-long video with Kotelnicki earlier today about how hard Tanaka Scott had been working and how much he's been progressing. I see that tweet has now been deleted.

Some apartments around there right? Hmmm.

Probably had an issue, went somewhere. Beat someone up with some sort of foreign object and then left. Deadly weapon is a wide range of items.

Idiots.

I think Bean needs to play the 2007 Kerry Meier role.

Practice as the QB2. Maybe a few reps with the WR's in practice, but use him in spots at WR in games. The speed is too great to waste and playing WR doesn't require him to prep anything beyond what he has to prep to be QB2.

Man, I think that was kind of on the backburner to start fall camp. It will be full speed from this point on. He has to play.

Haskell at 11:30 at night. Drugs. 1000% that was drug deal gone wrong.

Baffles the mind how dumb these dudes are. A week before they start a chance to maybe improve their lives and their families lives and they throw it all away. All the things these guys are given and they still can’t help themselves. Good riddance. See you later.

According to the police it was 11:30 a.m.. Not p.m.
The person who called the police was the alleged "victim". Most drug dealers don't call the police.

The rest of your post, I agree with.

Take it for what it's worth but this is the story going around Twitter via a Lawrence PD spokesperson:

Yeah that's a suspension for a couple of games, maybe. But if the spokesperson is saying this, there will probably be no charges truly filed and they'll still play.

Pretty tame, honestly.

Maybe it's just me, but i'd prefer not having players on the Kansas football team brandishing firearms around Lawrence.

Obviously would rather people not drink and drive too. But has happened at KU and players play again. IF all they did was show a firearm. So be it. Suspend them. They'll be punished by missing games and they will have some extra activities to do off the field before they can play again.

Jalen was suspended 4 games for a DUI. 13% of the season basically. 13% of a 12 game season is something like 1.5 games. They'll get suspended 2 games and they'll play again once certain stipulations are met, is my guess.

And as Jalen said during a recent interview. The DUI arrest was a changing point for him in terms of being a better person, not anything about playing. Made him more mature and he knew he let his teammates down both on and off the court. Maybe this could be the same for these 2 players.

These days, road rage is a thing. The weapon might have been a necessary caution.

Wilson got the sole charge. Level 7 felony, $5,000 bond. 4th from bottom in terms of level of felonies in state of Kansas. Level 1 is highest, 11 is the lowest.

Tanaka Scott did not get charged.

Sorry.
DUI is far far different, to me, than brandishing a firearm.

I’d guess over 50 percent of the US population has driven under the influence before. I’d guess under 3 percent of the population has threatened someone with a gun.

And then there’s the intent.
