But, I dunno what it says about his mentality if he’s rather bolt (for a likely lesser school) than stay and compete for minutes at a blue blood

It definitely feels that way from an outsider's perspective. This thought didn't cross my mind yesterday with Cuffe in my car, though.

Or maybe he wants to play at another blue blood but if he can't, get vengeance on the team that spent the big bucks to replace him.

Last Thursday, but doesn't apply to grad transfers and those who declared for the draft if they withdraw could potentially seek new places to play (not sure if they already had to have entered the portal along with declaring for the draft).

I think you just have to be in the portal by last Thursday...once you're in, you're good.
