Arenado a Redbird. Boom!
What embarrassing offseasons for the Indians and Rockies, both organizations with recent World Series appearances and supportive fans.
And, not to mention, owners sitting on hundreds of millions in gains.

Pedro was the best. He was just on Twitter earlier in the day too. I wonder what happened.

Yes, I guess some player had to be the first.
And, kind of relevant to John Sherman following through and saying he is going to compete each and every season.

There has been a season ticket waiting list for the Cubs that is insane. I could be wrong but I believe there were at least 100,000 people on it as recently as a couple of years ago. I know people who have been waiting close to 20 years.
I think I was originally around 40,000 in line when I had signed up (about 10-12 years ago).
Every year I get an update and I think I was in the 20,000 range a couple of years ago.
Well......
Now I am being borderline harassed by the Cubs to purchase "premier" tickets.
In the past 48 hours I have received 3 phone calls and 4 emails.
My cousin is a "premier" season ticket holder as well as other people I know and because of this I attend between 15-20 games a season sitting in their seats. For free.
For me to pay over $400 a ticket for 81 games (plus playoffs) would cost me a minimum of around $35,000 A TICKET. Obviously if I wanted 2 it would be double that.
Yes, of course I could sell the tickets but the "premier" seats are not desirable to "scalpers"/"brokers" at the FACE VALUE prices - so I would lose money.
My dilemma is that I in no way want these tickets but I assume there are people I know who might.
I really don't have the energy to start reaching out to people so I'm not going to but I have a feeling this may come back to bite me on the ass. I've been holding off on declining the offer and feel I should respond out of respect and courtesy but I am afraid if I decline that this will somehow come back to bite me on the ass. What to do. What to do?

In Mellinger's column today about the Sinclair dispute with distributors for Fox RSN's, he cited a data point that the average MLB viewer is 57 years old.
Ho-Lee. Shit. Disaster.

Not really a surprise, baseball is just not enjoyable to watch anymore. Younger people have 0 interest

i played up until 7th grade or so, and would watch fairly regularly up until i was maybe a senior in high school
the last game i watched was the Royals WS
generally, there are just too many games
i do love actually going to games though, be it majors or minor league. a sunny day at the ball park putting back a few brews is always a good time

The strike killed off a lot of interest. The outcome was the same perpetual winners with all the money. It took the Royals winning to turn the Titanic but it may have been too late. And the Royals couldn’t pay enough to stay competitive.

Taking part of first fantasy baseball league. Only picked 2 Royals. Mondesi and Bientendi.
Will be fun, but time consuming for sure.
