Add "excited about the game and the Jayhawks" and that's what you get! Good times.

Mrs. Fish and I flipped over to Fox News last night, in between Harris's closing speech and Trump's.

Fox News ran a segment on the non-Trump media (which Fox News intentionally-erroneously refers to as the mainstream media), which I expected would be cherry-picked far left, angry, emotional.

To my surprise, Fox News actually amplified (for its base, right before Trump's speech) perfectly moderate views (indeed, the clips featured many Rs-turned-Harris-voters, like Alyssa Farah Griffin).

The package ended with John Oliver's closing kick in this video, which frankly appeals to just the sort of voters who are tuning Trump out.

And, fittingly, Fox News cut in and out of Trump's boring, rambling, meandering, elderly speech.

It almost felt like a cutting of ties.

Going to be a wet, rainy day here all day today. I worried a bit about it tamping down turnout but then convinced myself it will affect old, Trump voters more than those younger or determined to get rid of Trump. I would stand outside for 2 hours in a blizzard to get rid of this piece of shit if I had to.

This is why I vote early. I can choose the time that works for me on a day where the weather impacts me zero.

I stood in line two hours the first day of early voting because I had a plane flight the next day. Did not want my legacy to be could have voted for Harris. Four solid straight ticket democrat votes in my family here in TX.

voted “by mail” last week (actually drove to the ballot drop-box, rather than rely on usps)

I still work largely from home, and my city is quite small. I'll run out in the middle of the day and have only a small line of retirees and stay-at-home parents to sort.

saw Mahomie’s mom sporting the maga hat in the suite last night

not gonna lie, just the hint of trump stink makes me like Mahomes a little less

I showed up 15 minutes before the polls opened. About 30 people ahead of me. When I left, the line was out of the door.

Mrs. 99 tried to vote yesterday. In our county, there is only one polling place for early voting. The line was wrapped around the building and she couldn't get into the parking lot.

Hoping that the "large turnouts are good for Democrats" holds true.

It doesn't bother me one bit. His Mom is a very churchy white Texan whose kid is a multimillionaire. I would have been stunned if she wasn't a Republican.

maybe i should be clearer…i can understand why some might’ve voted for trump in 2016 (and maybe even 2020). i wouldn’t agree with them, but i can at least understand their frustrations. but at this point, after all we’ve seen him actually do, and what he’s telegraphed as his priorities in a second term, i just don’t see how anyone that continues to support him can claim with a straight face to be pro-democracy…which, to me, is the absolute #1 issue right now

Yes, she has all but confirmed it.

Who Patrick Mahomes' family supports or what they say is irrelevant to me. I watch sports in part to take a break from politics and everyday shit and I am thankful every day that Mahomes is the Chiefs QB. His trashy Texan family doesn't move the needle for me whatsoever.

MAGA supporters have been convinced that it is Dems who pose the biggest threat to democracy. It's what the messaging HAS to be form the GOP to continue to support a threat to democracy.

This campaign has been filled with Trump trying to stick complaints about him to Harris. That, more expensive groceries (which Trump has offered zero legit solutions for) and "fear of scary brown people" is what they have.
