Yea this:
"Have an open mind, don't be stubborn and bitter. Trump can unify this country. Now let's make America great again"
Was hypocrisy at it's best ( at it's worst?? ) and it was too much for me - not today.
He can think it over and give it another try.

not only does Trump lack the capacity to Unify, he absolutely doesn't want to. He thrives in chaos and hatred and vitriol. Its all he has. He has no Policy to stand on, he has no values he can live by. All he has are things that are 100% not unifying, by there very nature.

The unity we can preserve, defend, maintain and hopefully eventually regrow will only - can only - be from the bottom up now. It won't come from the top.
And it will be incumbent on those of us who are relatively more (than less) safe from the
shit to drive that unity. That means giving to points of pain, speaking out despite social costs, and resisting the urge to stop your worries at the wall of your house.

BUD can be pretty vocal.
I'd put the odds on us having to deal with some physical confrontation in a public space at 2/1 in the next 4 years.

Mrs. Fish also.
It's interesting, the guys in our friend groups are pretty chill about this stuff. Everyone knows where everyone stands, and leaves each other alone.
The women...they have
Game of Thrones-style drama over their differences. It would not surprise me at all if this leads to a fairly dramatic shift in what Mrs. Fish does, socially.

I think that, in a nutshell, describes adult friendships (political and otherwise) and the difference between the genders.

"Dumb" or not, he speaks for the majority of American voters.
"Dumb" to me is/was not listening to them, or discounting them and what they said, and doing nothing more about it than calling them "dumb".
Also, if I were to be blunt and harsh, I would add - "dumb" was your predicting a Harris "landslide".
that’s not what i predicted, so kindly fuck off and eat a dick
Ok.

i said early on that Harris may end up with relative landslide of a win
team trump, rather than stopping the bleeding, seems to be only opening it wider. it’s hard to see how they aren’t shedding votes weekly, if not daily

Sorry you took such offense to my pointing it out - and saying it was a "dumb" prediction.
It's really not such a big deal. To me.

it must’ve been a big deal to you, hence this current exchange
i also said numerous times that Kamala would still be a president for psych (despite his “issues”). as with the sentence you just quoted, those weren’t so much predictions as they were half-hearted efforts to troll
was it dumb to assume this country is smarter than it is? maybe
was it dumb to assume women would vote in their and their daughters’ self-interests? maybe
was it dumb to assume reasonable people would see eye-to-eye about randi’s dumbassery? obviously

I called it like I saw it. Anyone who wasn't living in the real world and interacting with average people could see it coming.

Right. I saw it too.
Yet, we had many intelligent people (I sincerely mean it) on here who all but insisted/assured/guaranteed us that Harris would win.
The million dollar question is..... Why? Why did you, and I, and randy, and a couple others on here, see it, but smart people (not just on here but all across the country and world) didn't?

I just re-read JK's post. My guess is he doesn't realize the major mistake he made. At least I hope it was a mistake. For his sake.
I agree with you that many "average" Americans voted for Harris.
The BIG problem was that more "average" Americans voted for Trump.
The BIGGEST problem to me is - what pdub alluded to. Trump is a piece of shit, and the "average" American who voted for Trump didn't care enough that he's a piece of shit to not vote for him. Why?
