if nothing else was taken, this absolutely sounds like a case of someone knowing what was there and what they were looking for. i’d put an APB out to all the local peeps you’re in good with to keep a eyes and ears open
I agree.
guessing it was something along those lines. Made some calls, amazingly...one the of farmers kids "found" my bags hanging on a fence post on a backroad about a mile down the way. Only thing missing qas my hammer, nice Stiletto hammer but was my old one, my back up, so all in all....a good day.
Got my AC back functioning, got my bags back. Long crappy stressful day but overall, a successful one.
Glad you got most of your stuff back. So frustrating to have someone intrude into your home and take things of value to you.

agreed, I have no patience for thief's.
Particularly when it's something that I need and use to make my living.
My fault for leaving it out, but I leave shit out all the time where I live. Hell, I leave the keys in my pick up many nights and I haven't locked my garage or shop in years.

so around 15000 former pay phones in Australia are now free to use.
The coin slots have been replaced by USB chargers.

With VoIP, phone calls are essentially free. Good on Aus.

What's a "pay phone"?
My father owned a bowling alley many years ago. On the building there was a pay phone. I don't recall if it was AT&T or Illinois Bell but they sent him a check once a month. Wish I knew if it was for a rental/lease agreement or if it was based on how much money they collected out of the phone. My guess is the former and not the later.

Nice!
Does that mean you're a really good bowler?

No.
They don't call me Gutter for nothing.
Strange thing is my mother's family were all good bowlers and my father's side (the ones that owned the bowling alley) were not.

Went to my local 7/11 last night due to convenience and laziness.
Bought a bunch of junk food. Not to eat all at one time.
2 - 2.75 ounce (small) bags of potato chips
1 - 3.5 ounce (small) bag of Pretzels
1 - roll of Mentos strawberry flavor
1 - 20oz bottle of Coke Zero
1 - 20 oz bottle of Sprite Zero
1 - Frozen 7/11 18oz cheese pizza (I have never bought nor eaten one)
1 - 50oz bottle of water
How much did it cost me?

3.75 * 2 = 7.50
3.50
1.99
Buy 2 for 6
12.99
5.99
With tax like 42 bucks or something?
Someone do the math.

I want to be a technical illustrator but just for products with shitty technical illustrations.
I look at some of these drawings and go, surely you could have made things more clear.

Here are estimated prices for your items at a 7-Eleven store in Chicago, based on typical convenience store prices:
1. **2 - 2.75 ounce (small) bags of potato chips**: $1.99 each = $3.98
2. **1 - 3.5 ounce (small) bag of pretzels**: $1.99
3. **1 - roll of Mentos strawberry flavor**: $1.49
4. **1 - 20 oz bottle of Coke Zero**: $2.19
5. **1 - 20 oz bottle of Sprite Zero**: $2.19
6. **1 - Frozen 7/11 18oz cheese pizza**: $5.99
7. **1 - 50 oz bottle of water**: $1.49
**Subtotal**: $18.32
Assuming a sales tax rate of around 10.25% in Chicago:
**Sales Tax**: $18.32 * 0.1025 ≈ $1.88
**Total**: $18.32 + $1.88 = $20.20
So, the total cost would be approximately $20.20.

No way.
Not in Chicago.
I'll be surprised if it's under 35.

I know TDub's math wasn't pdub's math but wtf?!?!
Unless TDub figured out which is my "local" 7/11 and called them to get the prices, I have no fricking clue how he was within pennies.
Credit to Dr.P for making the effort!
I don't recall what were the exact prices but I'm going to go with....
2 - 2.75 ounce (small) bags of potato chips = 2 for $5
1 - 3.5 ounce (small) bag of Pretzels = $2.99
1 - roll of Mentos strawberry flavor = $2.49
1 - 20oz bottle of Coke Zero = $2.50 being 2 for $5
1 - 20 oz bottle of Sprite Zero = $2.50 being 2 for $5
1 - Frozen 7/11 18oz cheese pizza (I have never bought nor eaten one) = $9.99
1 - 50oz bottle of water = $2.99
= $28.46
+ Tax = $31 and change.
About to eat the pizza right now. BAD idea! Trying to kill the taste with an abundance of onions and garlic.
Cheap ass me should have paid the $40 or so it would have cost me to get a GOOD pizza delivered.

It can take an abundance of sliced black olives to make a frozen pizza palatable. I might not have known that if I didn't have grandchildren.

remember when I donated a guided fishing trip and listed it as "best in July and August, no later than early September" and the dood insisted on the end of September instead, and the fishing sucked, and the bored was randomly in a fuss saying it was my fault for not more explicitly stating that "early September" was not meant to also include the latter half of September too?
Just got back from this year's trip.
Dude actually wanted to go in July!
And I'm not exaggerating when I say we must've netted 80 fish.
feels good to know I've still got it.
Anywho imma head over to the Crooked Creek Saloon and ride this momentum to hit on some cougar on vacation.
