OH NO!
Pete Carroll to the Raiders!
I am a Pete Carroll fan...not the Raiders!
THUS, one of the reasons why the Raiders hired him?
Very few guys coaching in the NFL who they themselves help put fans in the seats (and have viewers at home tune in to games). He has to be one of them. Right?

LOL @ the cowboys. Jerry Jones does the weirdest shit.
The not funny thing to me is that Schottenheimer may be as good if not better of a Head Coach as Ben Johnson and at half (or less?) the price?

I'll never even try to understand the Bears. They've been a train wreck almost my entire life.
Here is a Gutterism for you.
No one understands the Bears. Especially the ownership and management.
Everyone understands the Bears. Especially the fans.
It blows my mind (and the minds of most Bears fans) that every season the issues from the top to the bottom are black and white and everything about the Bears seems to be blue and orange with them.
They NEVER (since 1986) are in sync in regards to having very good (if not great) personnel in all facets. Ok, so what has been the one constant the entire time? That's right! The ownership.
So anyone who blames parts/facets of the team sure as heck better start with blaming the ownership. I'm convinced that's the MAIN if not the EXACT reason why Ben Johnson was hired.
George McCaskey knew he had to hit the home run (hire the flavor of the month and the fan's choice) and pay up (because fans rightfully accuse the McCaskeys of being cheap).
He can now legitimately retaliate when the Bears suck and say to the fans - "Gee, I got the guy you all wanted me to get and I paid a lot of money to get him and you are going to still bash me for doing what you wanted me to do"?

Well umm...man I got no clue but uummmm Schottenheimer did not even call the plays as OC for the Cowboys. I just see this as Jerry is the worst GM in football. Hands Down. They signed DAk to the huge contract which cripples their cap. Their future is bleak. I personally never thought Schottenheimer was a good OC when he was calling plays.
Now the Bears signed the most innovative OC and have a QB1. I would rather be a Bears fan than a Cowboy fan. Hard to fathom but with Washington going to the NFC championship Dallas now has the longest drought at 29 years. Which is like a lot worse than the Bears.

I guess, in a way, I respect Jerry for deciding that this is his team and he'll run it however the hell he wants, results be damned.
It's like a video game to him. My 8 year old kicks my ass in Madden, but I don't have him play my franchise that I've created, even though it'd be better if I did. I guess that's what this is to Jerry. It's he and his kids real life video game franchise mode.

OK but how the Freak can you be a Cowboys fan?!?! With that Clown owner?!?! Just the horrendous decisions he has made. The worst. Not even close. He has been living off the Super Bowl wins from Jimmy Johnson.

No clue how their fans tolerate it. Although a lot of their fans are obnoxious, so I don't have much sympathy.

I like that you are more knowledgeable about football and are a glass half full while I am a glass half empty kind of guy regarding the Bears.
I was telling people this past week how I felt about the Bears HC position and the Cowboys HC position.
I have mixed feelings (go figure - right) about which job I feel would be more attractive to guy that might have the choice between the two if it was given to him.
I would think 2025 and beyond Jerry Jones would have to be at least considered as a deterrent but is working for Virginia and George McCaskey a positive? I think that answer is a hell no.
My cousin who has lived in the NY area most of his life has always been a die hard Cowboys fan. Stems back to the Staubach days.
He commiserates with me about our teams. It hasn't been fun but at least I have gotten a Super Bowl appearance this millennium.
It's incredible to me that the Cowboys haven't been to a Conference Championship (and Super Bowl) since the 1995 season.

One of the worst things about living in Texas is definitely the Cowboys fans.

Commanders opening drive: 18 plays 54 yards and a FG
Eagles opening drive: 1 play. 60 yard TD run by Saquan Barkley.
Then Philly causes a fumble on the next drive. Feels like this is going to get ugly.
So hilarious. Jerry Jones thinks he is so fucking smart.
Last NFC Championship game appearance by each NFC teams:
Washington Commanders - today
Philadelphia Eagles - today
Detroit Lions - 2023
San Francisco 49ers - 2023
Los Angeles Rams - 2021
Green Bay Packers - 2020
Tampa Bay Buccaneers - 2020
New Orleans Saints - 2018
Minnesota Vikings - 2017
Atlanta Falcons - 2016
Carolina Panthers - 2015
Arizona Cardinals - 2015
Seattle Seahawks - 2014
New York Giants - 2011
Chicago Bears - 2010
Dallas Cowboys - 1996

End of the first, 14 to 3 Eagles.
Washington is making the Eagles look invincible.

It is easy when the Chiefs get all the calls.

Hurts: 7/10 87 yards
Daniels: 10/18 74 yards
Washington isn't going to get back in this without the rookie playing better. They need to stop getting FGs in the red zone.
Commanders just got a big sack that resulted in a missed long FG try by Philly so who knows.
