duh!
but that's at odds with the "existential threat" sort of campaign rhetoric dems pushed, until they got their butts kicked with it, and ended up just welcoming Trump back anyway.
the threat was never trump himself. it's who Trump is aligned with and who controls the puppet
that has never changed. was, is, and always will be the problem.

so who's controlling the puppet?
who, exactly, do you suggest Trump is aligned with?

Some of them were standing on stage with him at the inauguration. Trump has always wanted to be a real billionaire and loves for people who have achieved real success to be impressed with him or to be seen as being friends with him. It's why he was always obsessed with getting his picture with famous, successful people prior to his spin as a politician and why he still does those things today.
Others of them are people like Putin and other truly intelligent world leaders. Trump is an easy mark for someone such as Putin. His fragile ego, his desperate need for attention and praise and his gluttonous vices make for easy manipulation by someone as well trained as Putin. We've been through all of this a hundred times.

The motherfuckers had a front row seat at the Presidential Inauguration and the guy who bitches about evil rich people more than anyone on this site has to ask "who is controlling Trump's puppet strings"? Insert giant eye roll GIF here.

And that exact same "some of them" were the same ones who have also historically been in bed with Dems too.
I'm concerned the single biggest difference is, Pubs wear it on their sleeve.

yes, we HAVE been through all this a hundred times. And I too have thought Trump's relationship with Putin doesn't pass the smell test!
And, I just commented on this in the war thread, but - the fact Trump isn't backing off on support to Ukraine may suggest the Putin influence isn't as significant as we thought.

it's not exactly like Biden or Harris or Dems was/were tough on Evil Rich People, tho.
I'm afraid the two-party system offers little more than the illusion of choice.

fuck off with the victimhood nonsense
YOU burned this bridge (and continue to do so…Fish just called you out for same putting-words-in-mouth-intentional-mischaracterization childish nonsense just last week)
YOU have chosen to continue to engage in the same rhetorical approach of intentionally misrepresenting other poster’s stances when they don’t agree with you
i’ve called it out numerous times (respectfully initially), yet you persist
i’ve no desire to engage you in any serious way because of YOU and YOUR behavior. i didn’t just wake up one morning and decide to treat you like this. YOUR continued actions are the reason
do better

Duh, yes. Not only did these wealthy people align with Dems when it financially benefitted them but Trump himself was a Democrat when it financially benefitted him. That's what evil rich people whose sole interest is in making shit tons of money do.
And it is only a matter of time before Trump pulls the rug out from under Ukraine although he really doesn't have to do anything more than to just tell Congress not to allow any more money or weapon sales to go through. No Executive Order would be necessary.

I don't intend to play the victim. And I don't think I did!
While I'm cognizant of the fact that at some point you and I started disagreeing on certain political views, I also don't think it's me who burned the bridge. I can actually still get along with plenty of other folks - and plenty of other posters, even! - despite disagreeing politically sometimes.
I don't mean to misrepresent other poster's stances, either.
It's sad that you only offer respect at some
initial stage. Cuz, while I regret if any was ever anything less than respectful previously, I try to be respectful going forward.
If you have no desire to engage me, then stop engaging me. It's as simple as that! I even put you on ignore, per your own request, yet you wouldn't stop quoting me anyway.
Now, this part, when you said:
"
i didn’t just wake up one morning and decide to treat you like this. YOUR continued actions are the reason"
the bold part, holy shit, this is so gross.
And, in light of the accusations of bridge-burning-blame and misrepresentation accusations, seems like a tell. Consider for a second that this might be projection - especially considering you just obliviously came out and admitted you have no intention of respecting me (beyond some previous initial stage), despite me at least trying for some respectful tone toward you going forward, and have been for a while now.
for real dude, you're trying to blame me because you can't keep your cool.
That's just SO not cool.

There's never a bad time to quote Raylan Givens.

Ousdahl,
Friendly advice from someone who has been in your shoes (board wise):
You've got to accept that you're a big part of the problem. It's your behavior. And Trad calling you out for it isn't gross. It's what happens when adults act like children around other adults.
People will give you a chance to turn it around here (I think), but it's going to take some self reflection and change in behavior (and probably some time away) for that to occur.
Trying to tell everyone how they're the problem too isn't going to help. No matter how much you believe it to be true (or even if it is true).
That's my civil advice.

This of course is over simplified.
It depends on your definition of tough. It doesn't fit your version of tough i'm sure...but it was quite a bit tougher than trump's administration when it comes to paying taxes.
I think people have an issue with your doing what Gutter used to be the master of ( like a decade plus ago ) -- any thing that leaned a bit one way he'd have to counter balance with any sort of possible argument the other way -- even if the argument wasn't sound.

I DO accept that I am a big part of the problem. I don't think I've ever suggested otherwise.
It's your behavior. And Trad calling you out for it isn't gross. It's what happens when adults act like children around other adults.
what behavior of mine specifically do you think is part of the problem here? The fact I asked him to clarify himself accusing me of being "broken?"
And, bear in mind, I'm not the one blaming others for the way I act around here. That's trad who did that. And I don't think trad doing so equates to trad "calling me out," so much as it really is a tell.
Cuz, in my opinion, and speaking of adults acting like children - I'm afraid the more childish thing to do may be, to not take responsibility for one's own behavior.
People will give you a chance to turn it around here (I think)
what would that take?
Like more reflection, changes
And more importantly, could it be a two-way street? Or is it as simple as expecting me to conform to what they want me to be for the sake of moderating their own behavior?
but it's going to take some self reflection and change in behavior (and probably some time away) for that to occur.
Trying to tell everyone how they're the problem too isn't going to help. No matter how much you believe it to be true (or even if it is true).
I'm afraid this is yet another tell!
You're neglecting to hold anyone else responsible for their own behavior. It's more "but it only takes one to tango" sort of logic. I don't think any amount of self-reflection or time away of my own can change that, no matter how much other posters think the way they act is my fault.
To apply your very own advice in this very post I quoted, illy - it just sounds like I'm not the only one who has "got to accept that [one is] a big part of the problem. It's [one's own] behavior. And [me] calling you out for it isn't gross. It's what happens when adults act like children around other adults."
To take this thought one step further yet - I recall another tell of yours a while back, and I can prob find the quote if you want me to, but...you came out and admitted something to the effect of, "some posters can still be cool to you despite disagreeing sometimes, but I don't know how they can do that"
so, what would it take for you, and certain other posters, to maybe learn how to just be cool even if we disagree sometimes?
