maybe we can vaxx them on the spot while we are giving them the orientation. during orientation when we are handing out the paperwork of where to go, how to enroll in the benefits, maps of where the best stuff is, hospitality grab bag of goodies, where to vote. vaxx them on the spot before we set them loose into the luxury.
The GOP propaganda machine has worked a number on you.

I think she is reporting what members of the public are saying at a hearing.
My kid wore a mask all last year, still talks a zillion words a day with an advanced vocabulary and remains insanely social. Wearing a mask had zero change to her speech development and zero change to her socialization skills.
That's what we call anecdotal evidence. At least when we don't agree with it.
My kids sound similar to yours. They've done fine throughout the pandemic.
I posted in the kids thread looking for some of the experiences from parents around here.
I am sure plenty of kids have had less ideal experiences during this entire ordeal. There is no 1 size fits all experience or way to move forward, but i think unfortunately masks are the way to go for schools even though they present various issues for some kids. It's just something we have to live with and address in other ways.
What it is is verifiable proof that whoever the idiot was that stated that there is a "100% chance" of those developmental issues happening to a kid wearing a mask at school is wrong. I made zero attempt to tie my personal situation to a larger group.

Is this what FOX needs everyone to rage about this week?

I sincerely wasn't trying to make a messageboard zinger at all.
Then you're just failing at drawing conclusions.
No. You just don't agree with my conclusions.
No, I just haven't seen anything hear to make that a logical conclusion. I havent seen anyone state that if a vaccinated person passes covid to someone that I am OK with it. Your just implying I because people think vaccinated people should be allowed to do more things despite the fact that they are capable of passing covid to someone else.
As we all saw last year, complete lockdowns have devastating economic and personal impacts. Despite some people's claim that this is the goal of anyone who votes for Dems, I do not want that to happen again.
We have to figure out how to both fight the spread of covid AND fight to maintain our society and economy. Being unvaxxed and unmasked is simply not the path towards that difficult balance. I want to thrive personally, financially and professionally and I want our nation to do the same to the best of their abilities. The antivaxxers and antimaskers are making it harder for our nation to thrive, not easier.

Do you think we should cheer and make fun of him?
Or do you think he's paid enough of a price for his ignorance?
Articles like that are tacky. Gloating about someone's death is tacky.

A lot of us mocked Villanova. As it says in the Bible: “shooters will not be mocked. And shut up about the refs.”

No.
Yes.
Is the article itself as tacky as mask burning parties, comparing mask mandates to nazism, and telling doctors reporting good news about vaccines that they’re the enemy of a free people?
This is tragic.
And perhaps the most tragic part of it all is, his untimely death very likely could have been easily prevented.

I don't see any cheering or gloating. Those are your assumptions being added. I see a report about his death and the stances he has taken on covid and masks. I think it's important for people to see examples of staunch deniers of covid's reach being proven wrong. No one is untouchable.

I think there is value in publishing a story where a vax-denier says something to the effect that they wish they would have taken the shot before it was too late.
But I agree that I don't like the articles that merely seem to dunk on a vax-deniers death. I suppose it might be a little different if you are a politician and pushing people to not get the vax.

Is it just me or was that article pretty matter of fact?
I didn’t take it as gloating or dunking or otherwise trying to rub it in his face. Just reporting that a dude who didn’t take a virus seriously died of the virus. Shrug.
To me, the “gloating” exhibited was lore on the politician’s part. And yea, I think elected public officials should be held to a higher scrutiny.
I suppose any time the theme is some iteration of “fuck around and find out,” somebody will always be prone to being rubbed the wrong way.

Yeah, I actually didn't even click on your link, so wasn't trying to say it was one way or the other. When a politician dies, it is news. But, I think we know what type of articles I am talking about and the types of media that editorialize those types of headlines.

Ousdahl, come on. Sure seems like you posted the article to celebrate the death of a GOP member whose ignorance cost him his life.
Everyone on here is vaccinated (i think). You weren't posting it as an educational service to our numerous Republican unvaccinated board members (sarcasm alert). It's quite obvious to me why you posted it. I don't necessarily think you're wrong for it, i just think it's tacky.
If twocoach or others want to perform mental gymnastics to convince themselves it was for another reason, more power to them.

Among other issues, I think there is a fundamental question:
When freedom-types take pride in defying the experts, should the experts be afforded a “told you so” when what they warned would happen happens?
