SKC will probably advance.

Then they will most definitely win the thing. Bc, MLS.

They don't look like a very good team right now.
Easy to beat defense ( hasn't been fixed ) - especially on counters, no build from the midfield.
A team like LAFC will win this.

Tim Melia is back. That Sanchez guy was terrible. Allowed four goals in just over 115 minutes, including two in stoppage in the first game, being up two men in the second game. Melia's red card nearly kept SKC from advancing all in itself.

Oh yea, Melia no doubt will make us better, and we'll need him to be, because I don't have faith in the back line.

Zusi blows. Teams just attack that left wing and go at him all game long.

He is cooked. Has been for a while now.

He also might be the only reason SKC gets out of groups. Love Zusi from about 6-7 years ago, but he's Gordo now. But I'm not going to be sad to see either in the line up still.

Besler isn't a world beater/stopper anymore either.

He’s a perfectly fine above average MLS defender.

Yes.
But sending Ike Opara off to Minnesota has sunk our defense - and i'm not seeing a vast improvement yet.
We had almost 70 goals against us last year - and that was with a good keeper - so Besler isn't at the all star level to compensate for that.

All this said, we still are technically 3-0-1 to start the season, so that's something.

Yeah. Sporting went from a team under Vermes that was defensive focused 5 or so years ago to now going heavy on top 6 pushing the opposing defense. The mids get up there frequently. Any combination in the attacking third of Kinda, Pulido, Russell, Shelton and Ilie is outstanding. Add in Busio, Hurtado, Gerso and Salloi off the bench, the focus of the Wiz is to attack all 90 minutes. There's not much sitting back.

Kinda hasn't shown me much in the 2.25 games I've seen.
You can see flashes though - he hasn't found his touch yet - and I guess Vermes has raved about him.

Besler's showing his age. Even after time off. Kind of sad, even though expected.

Weird "season," though. Could be the right time for a couple of farewell tours.

We needed to switch back to a pressing style from the previous 3-4 years of possession style out of the back.

It truly is fun to see the progression. Berne’s was offensive focused with Sapong and Kamari up front. Then went possession now back to attacking.

He should still be the USMNT head guy. He can do different styles that fit his players. But that’s talk for another day.

And ideally the Red Bulls beat Cincy.
That would actually allow the Wizards to advance tomorrow with a tie-and actually a tie may get us through no matter what.

Wiz in with win or tie. A loss would require depending on different group results.

Go RSL! (Apparently, that’s the equivalent of a KU fan rooting for Mizzou. In The rapids circle.)

Only thing interesting about today for me is the fact that I can view this as a regular season game, and the season is probably severely shortened.

Any word on what Plan for Toronto and Montreal might be if MLS does go forward worth ‘regular’ season games after tournament?

This has to be the earliest I've ever watched American sports. Just doesn't feel natural.
