Probably the best he’s been in last couple of years.

Tough test today going against Bieber. Maybe the Royals will make him Lonely out there on the mound.

Good pitching duel so far. Going to need to get to Cleveland's pen. Need to draw out some ABs and maybe take a few walks.

Junis has been really good too. He's got nasty stuff, just isn't consistent enough.

Savly with a nice absolute shot to center.

Junis at 42 pitches through 4. That'll play.

And guys, Cleveland stinks. Like big time. They have 2 good pitchers and Ramirez. Other than that, they are awful.

God damn idiot metrics.

58 pitches, 5.0 innings, 6 K's, 1 hit, 0 runs = Pulled.

Twitter was saying all over, time to pull him. Like I don't get it. He was in a damn zone.

Of course, first batter Hahn faces, single.

Metrics or the fact that he’s not really a starter and is working out a new pitch? Honest question, I have no idea.

Man, he's kind of been in the rotation for a while now, right? He's a really good 5th starter for any team. He can deal.

Thought he had been in the pen for awhile?

This is why KC can't have nice things.

From 2017-2019, 3 seasons, all but 4 appearances were starts. He didn't start in 2020 with the shortened season and didn't start 4 games in 2017. But 2018 and 2019, 61 appearances, 61 starts.

Thanks for putting a huge dent in Junis' confidence to start the season.

I don't see it the same way. He hadn't been preparing for a starting role. I think this outing is much better for his confidence than letting him go out there for the sixth and getting knocked around.

Something to build on.

He just got a vote of no-confidence on his first outing while he was absolutely dominating. That affects players confidence.

Won't truly know if he was on a pitch count until Matheny talks after the game. Maybe 60 was his absolute max. But I think the way he was pitching, just let him sling it some more.
