The arm broke off ( snapped ) my office chair. It's an expensive chair but has a warranty so they sent a n new arm. Unfortunately the bolt that is in one of the holes to attach it is stuck inside.

I tried to use the extractor kit they gave me but it seems to have made things worse.

Any ideas?
Do I need an even smaller extractor kit ( i.e. they sent me too large of one )?
Do I have to just drill that bit down to shreds with a made for metal bit?

next time drill a hole first, don't have to go too deep. Then use the extractor bit thats slightly oversized for the hole you drilled and run in reverse at low rpms. Sometimes helps to run the drill withnthe extractor bit at a slight angle so the reverse threads grab better.

Also, usually, the extractor bit is 2 sided. one side you drill into the screw in forward....then you turn the bit around and run it in reverse...same process as above just all with one bit instead of needing a separate drill bit.

Yea, my extractor bit was two sided but the instructions said to drill both sides reverse.

It didn’t really work as well as I thought it would but eventually by drilling with the extractor one side it just losened enough.

hard to tell without more pics/context, but if you didn't already figure it out, I also thought of some combo of JB weld/hose clamps/zip ties

with the clamps and ties there even if for no other reason than to keep shit in place til the JB weld sets

it would be more effort, take more time and have a way shittier outcome to do all that then to just do it correctly. but carry on....

Left hand drill bits could have most likely gotten that out fast

Training mission.
Was supposed to fly behind the plane.
Supposedly two separate radio frequencies so helicopter and plane were not on same frequency.

My Questions - so far...
Why was the helicopter fly/ing so close to Reagan - in flight paths? Yeah, I know - "training mission". :?
Did Helicopter pilot not see the plane? Tower asked Helicopter. Not sure if helicopter responded affirmative - or not. Regardless, how did they not see it - if they didn't see it? If they did see it, how/why didn't they avoid it?
Human error or mechanical/technology error? Or intentional?
I know "members" of the US Figure Skating "community" and two former Russian skaters were on the plane . Who else was on the plane?
Who was the pilot of the helicopter?
Trump said should have been "prevented". Maybe that is the right word to use. I might have used "avoided". Is one more correct than the other?
Why didn't any major network stay with coverage when the news broke?

My wife knows most of the victims who were part of the skating community. Sad day for the sport. They were coming home from the high-performance development camp that was held at the conclusions of the US Figure Skating National Championships that were in Wichita. Not really a "team" per se but just a group of athletes that train with some coaches out east. The camp was for promising "up and comers" in the sport that are at levels below what go to Nationals.

Pretty devastating for the skating community that had been completely reshaped in 1961 when the entire 18 person US Figure Skating team was killed in a plane crash en route to the World Championships in Prague.

Probably goes in the politics thread but I believe that Trump fired the heads of the Transportation Security Administration and all the members of the Aviation Security Advisory Committee the day after taking office. Hope fully that had nothing to do with this.

All the kids were probably younger than 13. A couple of elite coaches as well that coach with some old friends of mine. Just gut wrenching.

I heard another name of a person that was on the flight that is really going to devastate me if it is true but is has not been confirmed yet. I trust who I heard it from so it feels like a matter of time. Just hoping it is not true and they were mistaken as to what flight she was on. Ugh.
