She's in home isolation so nothing the rest of us have to worry about.
Assuming she didnt go anywhere prior to being tested. Which is impossible.

I am not in a high risk category, but I do fear the respiratory distress syndrome potential with this. Suffocating slowly is not my idea of a noble death.

Where is everybody going for news about this developing pandemic?

I cycle through these in this order:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Coronavirus

https://www.reddit.com/r/COVID19 (more clinical in nature)

https://www.reddit.com/r/Wuhan_Flu (one of the first but off the rails now with conspiracy theories)

I assume these capture any relevant data.

What else should we be watching?

The woman in Omaha was a participant in the Special Olympics basketball game, which suggests that she may have health issues that made her more vulnerable.

Unfortunately, the same can be said of everyone she competed with and against.

Jeez.

Here's the local news about the Overland Park case:

https://www.kmbc.com/article/gov-kelly- ... s/31270604

Johnson County is a large area. The administrators should tell the public generally what neighborhood this person is in "home isolation". PV? Olathe? Mission? Where? That's actionable information.

No, let's just leave it vague enough so everyone think's it's not their particular Hyvee or Price Chopper they've visited the last 21 days.

I don't post on this board often anymore, but this petri thread is different. I work for a local health services company and our HR, to their credit, sent out out a general warning notice last Wednesday. no specific directives about working remote.

But we have many employees that were to attend the HIMSS health conference at which Trump was the keynote speaker. It was cancelled, which should convey the significance of how the public and private sector feel about this problem.

Yet many people I know still have no clue about what's happening or deny it. The coming recession will be painful.

The White House overruled health officials who wanted to recommend that elderly and physically fragile Americans be advised not to fly on commercial airlines because of the new coronavirus, a federal official told The Associated Press.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention submitted the plan this week as a way of trying to control the virus, but White House officials ordered the air travel recommendation be removed, said the official who had direct knowledge of the plan. Trump administration officials have since suggested certain people should consider not traveling, but they have stopped short of the stronger guidance sought by the CDC.

Every decision is based on the PR of the reelection campaign.

"...I really get it...everyone of these doctors said 'how do you know so much about this'...I understand that whole world, I love that world, I really do..."

Says the guy who a week ago Wednesday told us that the number of Americans infected would be close to zero in a few days. The guy who was serious when he asked a room full of biopharma CEOs if the influenza vaccine would work against the novel coronavirus. If he really "understood that world", he'd know what a stupid question that is, because the flu vaccine, despite every effort to make it as efficacious as possible, doesn't even always prevent the influenza virus infections that it's specifically designed against.

Yesterday he also said that anyone who wanted a coronavirus test could get one, and his designated cleanup man, fall-guy VP Pence had to follow along behind him and try to clean up the damage and set the record straight, that the US is not in any way prepared to text extensively for the virus. I'll spare you a list of the other lies he's told us just in the last ~ 10 days about the coronavirus threat.

Seriously. Think about it. We must not have much self-respect to allow someone to continually lie to us like this, about something potentially so important. I feel like I'm living in an alternate universe. I really couldn't have ever imagined Americans would be ok with this. smfh

I don't think so. I think it's more that he's that fucking stupid and concerned about his image.

Yes, reelection plays a part, but it's more about the fat fuck's ego.

Yea, i know, its reddit. I dislike reddit greatly and very very rarely go there.
but you can sometimes get a variety of sources on some issuesand its a the coronavirus sub is a great place to get misinformed and concerned. As someone comments....interesting for the chinese to go to this level of disinfecting for something that is "just the flu". Assuming the video is real.
