Evil Rich People
Re: Evil Rich People
right on.
I guess it's a matter of looking.
but if I'm gonna relocate based on some Qusdahl ideology, I'm almost more tempted to check out some other country...logistics and stuff notwithstanding.

Bait fishing is much less bourgeois.....ousdahl wrote: ↑Mon Nov 07, 2022 11:17 am
wow dude, I can't believe you would call me a bait fisherman.
for real tho, if you really think I'm so lacking in understanding here, please help me better understand.
Otherwise, that kinda just comes across as condescending, especially when your own understanding of socialism is apparently little more than "sell my truck."
Are you familiar with anywhere I could pursue some commune or communal life? I would seriously consider it. I mean, heck, that's not necessarily unrelated to my interest in acreage in the Empire!
But isn't that the start? Selling your personal possessions or signing them over to the community? A community garden is socialism in action and with a purpose. Feed the people. Contribute what you can to the care and maintenance.
"The Empire" includes Saguache, Alamosa, Costilla and Conejos counties.
Ted Conover has written some good stuff on the Empire. His recent book "Cheap Land Colorado" is really good. I recommend reading it before venturing too far out into the "prairie". He now has a place down by Antonito on the other side of the Lobato Bridge.

If you were truly interested in what you speak about you would go find the information available, research where you could go, how you could be involved etc. Quit asking everyone else to educate you on every single subject in life and go do something.

Re: Evil Rich People
its more than just looking. But, I implore you to please do something more than just posting on here. If you believe there is another, better way...take a chance and live it...or at minimum read more about it instead of just asking 20 other people theyre opinions and then immediately discounting them when they dont align with yours.
hell...you could start a podcast where you look into these things with some actual in depth research and preparation. You could call it "Beyond the tweet". Where you take these idealistic, marxist tweets and memes you love to post and do some real analysis of it.....anything....anythings more productive and better than just copying and pasting it here and going "see....what about this, huh?"

Maybe I should trademark that name right now....then you can pay me for the rights. See...then you can start to live your dream....do the work and share the money with me. (this works for socialism and capitalism...so take your pick)

this one might really piss off the capitalists.
Re: Evil Rich People
You try so incredibly hard. and fail so spectacularly.
Kids should get lunches whether they can afford it or not, they are kids....victims of circumstance. Most people would want all kids to be able to eat and grow and learn so that they can become productive members of society and a useful part of the workforce.

Re: Evil Rich People
the greatest country in the history of everything shouldn’t even have this problem
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?

“…but if we give kids free meals then we’ll create dependency!”
Not to mention how paying for it by limiting deductions for those making over $300k a year is SoCiALiSm!!!!

Re: Evil Rich People
I am.
I'd prefer to separate the feeding of kids from education - as in, lunch provided is based on the financial situation the kid is in. And it should extend beyond school lunches.
I realize they're adding taxes on the wealthy to pay for it, which somewhat evens it out... but eventually that's just part of the budget and that money is fungible.
Point being that I don't think people who decide not to have kids should have to pay for lunches for rich kids.
Except for the fact that to means test it means you have to enforce that, and schools need to figure out who gets the free lunches or just manage the whole thing through some cards and software... and then you end up spending a bunch of money on administrative stuff instead of just directly feeding the kids...
Nevermind, I'm good with it. Didn't realize that I was going to end up here.

Something tells me you don't know many CEOs.
And for as much time as you spend on here, all day, every day, you can't possibly be working ANY harder than those you lump together and chastise.
