This is more of a Johnson price than a Hopkins one, but I wouldn’t be at ALL opposed to the chiefs trading a 1 for a player and a 2 or 3. The 1 just isn’t ever going to be at a good spot for us, and given how much friendlier the contracts are and how good we’ve been picking in the 2-4 range, I’m ok simply moving down to get better.

JuJu Smith-Shuster and CB Jaylen Watson have already been ruled out for this weekend's game vs. the Raiders. Losing Watson is a pretty big loss.

Not a huge deal THIS weekend, but yeah. This is a lot of uphill sledding.

On the other hand, it's the Raiders.

1/2 a year of Diontae Johnson is not worth a 1st round ( to 2nd round ) swap.
That's a no go for me.

They sucked last year too when they beat KC in Arrowhead on Christmas without throwing a single pass in the 2nd half.

Consider me less concerned that one of the flukiest games i've seen in the NFL will happen again.

( they also had Davante Adams, Hunter Renfrow and a healthy Jakobi Meyers - the Raiders don't have any of those things this upcoming matchup )

I think this particular Raiders team we’re about to play might be the worst in the league. And the Browns are in the league.

Me too. But it’s in range for me. I would do a 1 for Johnson, a 2 and a 4. I don’t think Carolina would do that.

OK, yea, if you're looking at it like that, then yes, I would.
( bc our 1 is gonna be maybe 10 picks away from their 2 ).

I also - and I will accept a degree of BAD FAN here - am perfectly ok with paying more than you ordinarily would on the basis of hunting the threepeat.

It’s hard to overstate what that would mean historically. And I think we are seeing the end of what I hope is merely the first phase of Pat’s career. I don’t think we’re looking at anything like Brady’s mid-career lull.

But the future isn’t guaranteed. ACLs and Achilles Heels aren’t guaranteed. Motivation isn’t guaranteed.

I believe in shooting for history, and I personally think it is more likely to collect this one than it is to collect five more.

Speaking of Brady, I never really liked him but have to admit he is a pretty good color commentator.

He sucked Week One but was much better this past game. Too bad he has no business being out there due to being a minority owner of one of the NFL teams. He should not be allowed to do both of those jobs as his work as a commentator gives him access to the inner workings of opponents that no opposing team owner should have.

Agreed. They also gave up an insane 145 yards rushing to Zamir White that game, who only has 165 yards in this entire season so far.

Man, KC's offense has been so baffling the last two seasons. I wonder what's so different in these two seasons with Matt Nagy instead of Eric Bienemy?

Bienemy wasn't good enough to keep a job in the NFL so I don't think that he's the difference.
Andy is the mastermind of the offense, let's be honest.

1. Shit receivers. Worse offensive line.
2. Way way way improved defense to where Andy/Mahomes will take fewer chances.
3. Andy keeps the playbook tight and then opens it up come playoffs.

O-line specifically the tackles. Interior O-line is very good.

But the interior was very good two years ago ( same guys ).
Instead of Pro Bowl LT Orlando Brown we have two overmatched dudes who don't have starting experience, one a rookie.
Instead of a very serviceable Wylie, we have the most penalized player in the NFL who, even when he's not penalized, isn't very good.

" Chiefs cornerback Jaylen Watson will undergo surgery for a broken fibula and tibia, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler on Tuesday.

Watson could return late in the season if the Chiefs make the playoffs, but it's also possible he won't return."

Yet another big loss for KC.

At least this one comes at a position of depth. But, sheesh, catching too many breaks here.
