Musk isn’t wrong about Apples App Store and their cut of developers hard work.
30 percent of your sales plus annual developer costs on top of that.
On top of that, they keep features of the phone blocked to web apps so that they can’t be as immersive/intuitive/successful as native ones.
Fuck em for that.

Why? What happened to “it’s their business to run it the way they seem fit” right wing ethos? Apple doesn’t have to tell Elon (or anyone else for that matter) anything about any of their decisions. It’s probably bad for their long term business viability but aren’t you going to defend their rights?

JFC.
I/we didn't say they should be forced by the government to carry the twitter app in their store.

with that said, pretty sure App store might be kinda monopolyish either way
but I don't think that's the point Elon was trying to get at, nor was Randy

If Apple had legitimate reason to take Twitter off, it would be a very simple explanation.
But they don't. Its a political battle. Thats their reason. They just don't want to openly admit it

I'd suggest apple is bailing on twitter for the same reason so many other companies are bailing: cuz they're worried the new ownership isn't gonna take misinformation and hate speech and privacy and security concerns more seriously.
I mean how lucrative can the lobster demographic be, anyway?
all $80,000 deposit receipts aside...

The problem is that we've enabled the spread of information before properly teaching people how to distinguish good information from bad information.
Teaching in middle school and highschool the studies of Kahneman and Tversky needed to come first. That needed to become mandatory yesterday.
The idea of banning speech just reinforces the opinions of those who agree with the ones getting banned.

Twitter will no longer enforce its policy against COVID-19 misinformation, raising concerns among public health experts and social media researchers that the change could have serious consequences if it discourages vaccination and other efforts to combat the still-spreading virus.
Eagle-eyed users spotted the change Monday night, noting that a one-sentence update had been made to Twitter's online rules: "Effective November 23, 2022, Twitter is no longer enforcing the COVID-19 misleading information policy."

after nearly 3 years. we can't say for sure what is misleading. hard to have a policy.

just yesterday. one gov't official said your booster is good for a year. another said if it has been greater than 2 months since your last booster, it's time for another.

Both can be true

Agreed. People spread all kinds of incorrect information about the vaccines without knowing they were useless. "Pandemic of the unvaccinated" was just one example. People need to use their critical thinking and not rely on the news.
