per 247:

…That led to a transfer to Santa Clara, with Parker finding a bigger role in California. He played in all 33 games as a junior, starting 32 of them and averaging 6.9 points, 5.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.3 blocks per game. A 6-foot-10 forward who played both the four and the five for the Broncos, Parker shot 34.2% from behind the 3-point arc as a junior.

He attempted more shots from deep this year, but saw his percentage drop to 24.6%. Still, he started all 33 of Santa Clara's games, setting career highs in minutes (29.3), points (7.7), rebounds (5.8) and assists (2.0) per game while blocking a shot per contest.

He had some good moments, scoring 14 or more points eight times at Santa Clara, including a career-high 19 against Nevada, and he had a 12-point, 11-rebound double-double in a close loss to Gonzaga this past year.

And that makes him a solid addition for a Kansas team lacking frontcourt depth after the transfers of Ernest Udeh and Zuby Ejiofor. While the Jayhawks are certainly not done pursuing big bodies, it's worth pointing out that Santa Clara's two most frequently used lineups down the stretch of the season had Parker at the four next to a bigger player, while their fourth-most used lineup over that period had Parker playing center next to a 6-foot-7 power forward. That versatility could help Kansas from a depth perspective.

aka…not a dud

He's fine. He's a role player type. He'll be the 3rd 5-man. Hunter, then KJ can slide there if need be and then Parker.

You can't have every player on the roster be a stud. You need role type players who know their role and know exactly what to do and when to do it.

I don't think someone pulling out of the draft can then enter the closed portal - unless they entered the portal before it closed and THEN entered the draft. It is also very likely that I have no idea what I'm talking about regarding this issue.

There are several that entered the portal and declared for the draft. Grant Nelson is one.

I'd be good with KU adding Zyon Pullin.

If he doesn't have enough transferable credits to go to Michigan and going back to UNC isn't an option, Love might kinda be screwed.

Wonder if we've talked to Julian Phillips of Tennesee? Highly rated 6-8 SF.

Not sure why NBA teams wouldn't want him. He's Taurean Prince. Exactly.

Ive seen him anywhere from 17 to undrafted. Seems most places have him in the 40-48 range.

Id take him if he wants to play one more year in the semi pros before he goes NBA.
