Had to record KU vs Texas. After watching, it looked like KU hung with them for most of 3 quarters. The fumble on 4th and 1 seemed to be the turning point when it was still 14-20. That's when the speed and strength of UT started wearing us down and they went on to score 20 unanswered. It didn't seem to be as bad of whipping as I thought before watching.

Yeah. What a crappy play that fourth down call was too. Called time out, and just got Bean confused. Wildcat to Hishaw might have worked. But no time for a hand off or fake.

Just popped tickets for Saturday. Went through Athletics so it counts toward capacity…need Lance and staff to stick around.

This will be a good game to go to because I think, if Daniels plays, it'll be closely contested with the good guys eekin' out a win.

Also, for all of Bean’s struggles,* under Lance he’s the second best QB we’ve had since Todd.
* For the love of god, you’d think a good athlete could figure out how to not airmail every single pass that needs to go 5-15 yards in the air.

Oh, you don't have to sell me on Bean.
He's a fantastic backup and would still start on a number of D1 schools.
I think Daniels is better and we might need him to beat a quietly good UCF team.

I just wish he’d pull it down and take the easy 4-8 yard gains they give him because the play design is so good.

For sure.
But also on top of that, those easy 4-8 yard gains can become 40 yard gains with a guy like Bean.

I understand the game theory aspect of it, but I'd rather just say/know he's out.

This game could be similar, now, to the Oklahoma State game, where we needed Bean to do enough to get us a W that'll get us ( in this case close ) bowl eligible.
I definitely think we'll win another game after UCF ( whatever the result is ) but I wouldn't put a lot of money on two more.

I am considerably less excited about this season with Bean at QB. SMH.

I think Bean will show a lot better at home than in Austin. We know he is capable of better, pretty sure the O-line will be better and hope the D will be better. Also can't have any passes dropped - especially on 3rd downs.

Yes. But I suppose a bit of a silver lining is I'm not sure we were as good as our press clippings, with Daniels. Giving Daniels and the staff some cover while this builds might not be the worst thing long-term.

I thought the same but really I think it was a defense mechanism for how bad we have been in the past.
Daniels makes things happen that remind you of Reesing at his peak.
So I don’t think it’s unreasonable to think we are a top 25 team, say 8 wins, with him.

I see UCF is a 1.5 point favorite, I’m assuming based on Daniel’s not playing. This team is not very good without him, I’m afraid.

Need to understand that Kansas should become a run-oriented team with JD sidelined. I felt like last week Andy really messed up the play calls and got KU behind the sticks all day.

Agreed. Bean isn’t a passer.

I have a good feeling about this one. University of Central Flo-Rida going down!
