How do you feel about LaRussa's ire?

And you wonder why the median age of baseball fans is like 58.

Just a couple reasons LaRussa's diaper-filling was stupid:

1 - the whole point of using a position player to pitch is to save your real pitchers for a game you might have a chance in (as opposed to one you've already lost, effectively). So, it's to gain a competitive advantage in the next game. Ergo, it's a necessarily competitive play, and should be met with competitiveness. And

2 - hitters, especially young ones, get paid to hit. And that HR will count the same when it comes time to negotiate. Not fair to ask him to back off.

Both (casca and fish) with good responses and I agree.

Then he actually had this fiasco....
Clearly in his presser he didn't know if he was coming or going - contradicted himself numerous times.
With his reputation, I think he very well may have been drunk.

Rumors in Chicago were that he lost the clubhouse long ago.
These (see below) kind of things sort of reiterate it.

La Russa was always going to be a shitshow that we were all ready to watch.

If the manager lost the club house, why are the Sox in first place? Baseball is a game of discipline. I bet that player would be in a better bargaining position if he did what his manager told him.

Can’t imagine a worse fit. Would be like Kentucky hiring Boeheim or something when Cal leaves.

Because they have the most talent. But if that place spoils, that won’t matter over the long haul.

And if a toxic clubhouse won't get them...

Lance Lynn probably has 3-4 of those 7. Maybe more.

Obviously I haven't seen every play in MLB this season but this has to be a contender for play of the year. Yes? No?

P.S. Clearly Will Craig had a brain fart and/or has no clue about Baseball situational awareness.
THERE WERE TWO OUTS. Why didn't he step on first and why was he focused on the runner on base?
Also, after he did NOT step on first base he should should have ran after Baez and tagged him. Baez couldn't go back to home plate and stand on it and be safe. Perhaps he thought he had to step on first for the batter to be out? As the great Jeeper would say - JFC.

Gosh darn the Flubs and Sux are playing some good ball.

Bought myself one of these jerseys today. I know, I know, jerseys are for kids. Didn't say I was going to wear it.
But I might.
