I legit hope he makes it.

I have an uncle - well, I had an uncle - who wasn’t even as old or as fat as potus. Got pneumonia, tried to tough it out, had a harder and harder time breathing until he basically ran out of oxygen and went into cardiac arrest.

Scary how quick it happened.

He is on drugs. As he should be! But there’s a reason he should still be in the hospital. The crash can be quick, and severe.

I agree to an extent, but at the same time there are doctors and medical equipment at the WH. If he needs supplemental oxygen he can get it at the WH from the WH doctors. And if he needs to go back to the hospital he can be there in like 15min. Plus, it isn't like a "crash" happens to most people. Most people in his age range for his gender (like 95%+) survive and most don't require or receive the treatments trump received. So he is overwhelmingly likely to be fine.

The main reason i think he should be at the hospital is to reduce risk of spreading it to others.

Call me skeptical, but i don't think most people who seem outraged about him going back home to the WH truly give a shit about his well-being.

I golf with an older guy who got covid. He is a little younger than Trump, but in far worse shape physically (very fat, drinker, bad diet, etc). He said he couldn't walk from his bedroom to the kitchen for over a week without being totally out of breath. Other than that he said he really had no symptoms other than a fever for a day or 2. After a few weeks he was back to "normal". I think it is possible all the drugs given to trump worked and he feels better other than some fatigue. It isn't like he was on a respirator. The media salivating over him breathing heavily is sort of bizarre since it was to be expected.

I would rather they spend all their time making fun of him for filming propaganda twitter vids.

But, you can throw the 95% figure out the window. It’s significantly lower than that for someone like him who has already required hospitalization and supplemental oxygen.

The rate stats for people requiring the drugs he’s taken are even worse, but I’m not sure they’re instructive where we don’t know whether he got those drugs early, on time or late.



It’s also true that dexamethasone has significant neurological and and psychological side effects, which happen to track some issues he had going in (and also happen to be very bad traits for a world leader).

I don't watch them to inform myself necessarily... but they are the 2 most watched 24/7 news networks....so the majority of our country on both sides gets much of their "news" from 1 of those 2 stations.

What is crazy is how you can listen to some people speak for 5min and immediately know which of those 2 stations they watch.

I heard a report that the secret service members who drove him around to wave to people volunteered to do so because they weren't concerned about the risks.

Seems like they and trump would probably get along very well since they all think it is just a little cold.

Also, 210k died in 7 months. WITH the entire country shut down and taking precautions. My assumption is that if we truly acted like this was flu (absolutely nothing shut down, no masks) 80% of the country would have had it so far. That would be 265 million. At 2% death rate, what would be over 5 million dead. About 4x more than every war the US has fought in, combined.

There's also a difference in that those flu deaths occur without the Covid protocols we are having to deal with. And look at the discrepancy of 20,000 vs 200,000....
