You left off the part about one having a vaccine and the other one EVERYONE on the PLANET is susceptible to.
The economy has collapsed. And it will be much worse off than it would have been, had we acted like adults on this thing.Walrus wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 11:46 am It's true that Trump wanted the economy to remain open so that he could win reelection and keep the economy from collapsing. But it's also true that the left has done everything they can to try to collapse the economy (the media, the race riots, keeping businesses closed, etc.) just so that they can get theirs in. A war with Syria is part of the reason the media wants the left to win.
do you ever tire of just making shit up?Walrus wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 11:46 am It's true that Trump wanted the economy to remain open so that he could win reelection and keep the economy from collapsing. Pure nonsense.Walrus wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 11:46 am It's true that Trump wanted the economy to remain open so that he could win reelection and keep the economy from collapsing. I can still go get all my money out of my bank if I want. I can still shop if I want at pretty close to the same prices as a year ago. I can still get a car loan or buy a house.jfish26 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 11:54 amThe economy has collapsed. Trump protected the market. That's something entirely separate from the economy.
I wouldn't say the economy has collapsed, but when banks start losing money, it's a pretty bad economy. No margin to work with, have to set floors on lending rates and savings interest rates are among the lowest they've ever been.
As do many other people. A relatively high unemployment rate is not the same as "the economy has collapsed". That's just overdramatized nonsense to scare voters.
I agree, but it's been in this same spot since the last crisis. We never had a real recovery from the last one. All our government did was print money and reinflate the stock market and assets (real estate). I also agree 100% that our current stock market is divorced from reality (aka, it's fake). But I'll add that while the stock market is being held up by air, it's also going to become a big problem for all these pensions that rely on 6-7% returns from their investments. That's just one reason of many that the gov is trying to keep things propped up. Of course it won't work in the long term, but it might last another few months or year.jfish26 wrote: ↑Tue Oct 06, 2020 11:54 amThe economy has collapsed. The issue is that the economic fallout has (to this point, and obviously as a gross generalization) spared homeowners/homebuyers and people who have material investments in the market.
