We arent seriously going to overreact to this by moving Giannis into the GOAT conversation, are we? Ugh.
I hate Overreaction Day, the day after basically every major championship game.
Not yet but he sure is on pace to be considered A (not "thee") GOAT.
Only 26 and so far......
NBA champion (2021)
NBA Finals MVP (2021)
2× NBA Most Valuable Player (2019, 2020)
5× NBA All-Star (2017–2021)
NBA All-Star Game MVP (2021)
3× All-NBA First Team (2019–2021)
2× All-NBA Second Team (2017, 2018)
NBA Defensive Player of the Year (2020)
3× NBA All-Defensive First Team (2019–2021)
NBA All-Defensive Second Team (2017)
NBA Most Improved Player (2017)

Where do MJ and Bron compare at similar points?
Cuz Giannis just got a ring at a younger age than either of those guys

Giannis won his first title in his 8th season. Jordan won his first two titles in seasons 7 and 8. James won his first two titles in seasons 9 and 10. James had 2 MVPs by year 8; Jordan had three.

Nice.
So yeah, let’s not jump the gun
But Giannis is building a resume similar to those other goat candidates.
Let’s chat again in a few years.

Giannis is certainly unique but does he have the skillset in todays NBA to go on multiple runs?
In Milwaukee?

i just love Giannis’ story...even if this ends up being the pinnacle of his success, which seems doubtful

It's not that I think the answer is "no" but Milwaukee did benefit from an inordinate amount of weird injuries to opposing stars on top of some good old fashioned luck. If Kevin Durant's toe is back 2 more inches then the Bucks season ends in the conference semis.
With the amount of player movement these days, I think it will be harder for teams to go on prolonged runs.

Of course Milwaukee benefit from a few injuries, but who didn't this post season? Don't forget they were down a starter as well. Also, as little as two weeks ago, there was doubt Giannis would even play in the series. He did what he did at nowhere near 100%.

I lived in Detroit when Rodman first came on the scene there. The Pistons version of Rodman was one of my favorite players ever. He was relentless.

As a Bulls fan, it was taboo to like Rodman when he was a Piston. I still did. A lot.
Some people don't realize he was just a hard nosed ass busting Basketball player before he became a freak - off the court.
I had several Rodman encounters but the best was at the Crazy Horse (strip club) when he brought his then wife Tara Leigh Patrick (better known as Cramen Electra) with him. She was SMOKING hot that evening/morning.

I attended the '88 game between the Celtics and the Pistons that broke the single game attendance record with 61,983 in the Silverdome. It was crazy loud. Rodman got assigned to Bird in the 2nd half and just pestered him relentlessly. I think he had 18 in the first half but only got 4 or 5 shots up once Rodman switched to him after halftime. I still remember him diving all over the place for loose balls and rebounds. And that prancy sprint he had was unforgettable.
