I didn't blame poor folks for anything.

I also don't blame all the rich people for anything/everything i can think of.

you also think socialism is about something other than the workers owning the means of production.

You don't even know what that means. It sounds good though, so keep throwing it out there.

you are a perfect microcosm of our education system failing

the teaching of critical thinking skills, reason, and just basic things like vetting the reliability and trustworthiness of information sources all seem to have been lacking in your education

Let's be honest, you probably don't work hard enough/smart enough to own much of anything. Hey, neither do I for the most part....but i don't vilify business owners for my problems.

It's so funny that you think everyone works for large corporations, holding the working man down. A LARGE % of our country works for small businesses where the workers DO own the "means of production". What do you consider small non-chain restaurants? Or hair salons? Or auto body shops? Or residential construction companies? Or lawn care companies? Or local breweries? The list goes on and on.

You know what it sounds like? It sounds like that since you're not capable of owning your means of production that you think nobody else deserves to. Or that you've been done wrong by every employer and that's why you just can't quite seem to get ahead.

Wonder how minorities, who have worked so hard to fight to even be allowed to own businesses, feel about your desire for "the people" (aka the governement) to "own the means of production".

For someone (and i am 100% with you on it) who rightfully bitches about our governement so much, it sure is funny thinking about them controlling even more. We can't get our governement to do what's best for us as it is for crying out loud. LOL

Thinking they (our elected officials) would do right by "the people" is almost as likely to work as "trickle down" economics amirite?!?!?

Yep. Reminds me of a line in the film The Departed.

Believe it or not, we agree - albeit in a roundabout way.

If workers weren’t so lazy about realizing the strength in our numbers, and that job creators ain’t shit without us, maybe we could set our minds toward things like income equality and a sustainable economy and country!

But instead of wanting that and working for that, we got you and lobster and illy trying to make me the boogeyman instead.

go MERICA!

Why does the gummint need to do that?

Do you not trust the free market to do it?

I think, under the model of socialism, those who know what’s best for a people is a people’s union?

But we all know how Merica feels about unions.

No way Mericans would try to form a union, especially not a more perfect union! Next thing you’d know, we’d be trying to promote the general welfare!

Would you believe me if I posted a receipt for an $80k deposit?

It's hard to take you serious on some things.

(I am sure the feeling is mutual)

Did you just call socialism a free market? 🤔

My point was, I don’t trust the “free market” to foster economic equality or economic sustainability.

If it’s between the “free market” and the gummint to decide things like fair wages, I at least trust the gummint more than the “free market.” Do you?

But the truth is, I would rather not have the gummint do that either. I’d rather have the people deciding that, by means well-organized unions and better/more understanding of economic policies they vote for and such.

Bonus points to anyone who also got the preamble joke.

Equality of opportunity?

Or

Equality of outcome?

We need to fight as hard as we can for as much equality opportunity for everyone as possible. But we also have to acknowledge that no matter what we identify as, most of us will never be a KU basketball star. The left is trying to force this agenda that everyone can become a KU basketball star. It's not going to happen -- it's called reality.

Whatever bro, come find me under the boards and see if you still feel that way.

But for real, it’s about retooling the whole system.

We need an economy that sustains the needs of the many, rather than sustain the greed of the few.

The resources are out there! But rather than focusing on how to sustain life on this planet, we got billionaires trying to come up with space tourism for y’all...who’s gonna get that first early check-in on the moon!

How is that statement really any different than this one?

If we can accomplish anything we want, who wants to go TP mich’s house with me?

If we want it, and work for it, we could even time it so we do it right before it rains!
