either way, remember what fuss you raised after that one time I called you a nazi?

just ask yourself: how much of that shit would you be willing to put up with? For how long? If I was repeatedly accusing you of calling you a nazi.

Illy did as much to me, by repeatedly accusing me of being racist even though I repeatedly denied and condemned it, and by repeatedly accusing me of using the N word despite repeatedly failing to produce any examples of me doing so when requested.

How much of that shit should I be willing to put up with?
You called a black person an Uncle Tom. If you don't think that is problematic, then that's on you.

I believe you referred to Clarence Thomas as Clarence Uncle Thomas. That's just cringey and unnecessary. It's not funny to me. Maybe others enjoy casually racist humor, but not me.
This from the guy who is ok bombing brown skinned people?

hey illy, is your post an actual response to my questions prompted by your post?

Or did you not bother to answer those questions in favor of just another petty putdown?

Mich can you confirm?

TDub wrote: Tue Nov 22, 2022 1:37 pm how is that ad hominem? you ignored his point and provided sources and instead said he was slurping and gurgling.....its the exact definition of ad hominem.

but it doesn't matter because nuh uh...he started it!

I'm just saying, you can't pick and choose when to play the victim and then turn around and do the same shit.

oh..
and you have repeatedly called me various things....one of them specifically as the leader of nazis no less.
I've never intentionally played the victim card, even when the rest of the bored at large is otherwise going full-on radical militant in the war thread.

what have I repeatedly called you?

Ignorant? yea I guess, but you've never disputed that or offered anything to counter the accusation otherwise.

I just think it's funny that Illy would rather Stan for CEOs and slob billionaire knobs, than have any actual class solidarity. He's got more in common with homeless people than he does with billionaires, but he doesn't even realize that, does he?

but, since illy brought it up tho, and since his post was quoted thus exposing me to it despite ignoring him, and since you keep dragging me into this illy beef despite me trying to avoid it, let's ask illy 5 questions of the day!

1. how many CEOs do you really know? How many is "many?" Feel free to be as exact or as estimated as you'd please
2. what exactly DO the CEOs do for the companies who employ you, anyway? Please be as specific as you're able to be. Can you think of an example of a time when all would have been lost, if not for the CEO being there? Or, for that matter, vice versa...can you think of any times the CEO just arbitrarily complicated things? Or times when the rank-and-file just took some initiative to get shit done without getting the CEO expressly involved, so as to avoid the complications of micromanagement and such?
3. if the majority of CEOs are not like Elon Musk, how so?
4. if the majority of CEOs are not golden spoon kids who were given companies by their parents, then...
a. how DO they become CEOs, then?
b. do you mean to say nepotism among corporate ranks is no problem at all?
c. and is it worth distinguishing an executive officer with an ownership role?
d. cuz I think execs often are also afforded some ownership in the company who employs them, right?
5. speaking of "golden spoon kids," did you mean to prompt some bigger discussion on generational wealth? Cuz, all CEO talk aside, do you realize the number one way Mericans become evil rich people is to be a "golden spoon kid" in the first place, who really did just have their wealth given to them by their parents, rather than ever actually doing a single day of work themselves. But I'm sure you knew that, right?

bonus question:

can you give any examples of a CEO whose compensation can be demonstrably justified by their productivity? e.g. if the CEO is making, say, 300x the income as the average worker at the same company, can you demonstrate the CEO really works 300x as hard?
1. Several dozen personally. Dozens more casually via work stuff. Some are not multi-millionaires.

2. You have no idea what a CEO is, do you? Owners and CEOs are different things entirely. Both CEOs of the companies I work for are integral to the success and day to day operations of the companies. 1 is CEO of close to a billion dollar bank, and I'd put him in ths top 5 most important employees in the entire company of over 300 employees. The other, CEO of an appraisal company, built the business from the ground up. Started as one guy, now has 20ish employees. Largely recognized as one of the best appraisers in the entire state. He personally reviews every appraisal I complete (as well as doing that for the other commercial appraisers), and offers suggestions or recommends corrections. He personally trained me as my supervisory appraiser for several years. He is solely responsible for every single dollar I make. The fact you need examples, again, leads me to believe your view of CEOs is based entirely off of Elon Musk or some CEO you've had at some job who you didn't like.

3. Most CEOs aren't one of the richest people in the world. Most CEOs are responsible for overseeing the day to day operations of the company they work for, in numerous ways.

4.

A) by hard work and maybe a little luck along the way.

B) I said that nowhere. You come across as envious/jealous. You talk about seizing the means of production, but you wouldn't even know what to do with it. You'd have to actually work instead of posturing.

C) CEOs and owners are not the same thing. So, I think you just answered my question I posed in #2.

D) LOL. You're lost.

5. Link to data supporting that opinion?

Bonus: Q, you sound silly. I don't know what either of my CEOs make, but both justifiably earn whatever they make.

Stop thinking every CEO is Elon Musk. Stop confusing owners with CEOs.

Sure, there kids of rich business owners who have been gifted the title of CEO and who provide little value to the companies they work for. It's not nearly as prevelant as you try to say.

I don't know how old you are. Over 30 I presume. But you talk about CEOs like a 17 year old with no real world experience.

CEOs work sooo hard.

You really struggle with this.

Not all CEOs are owners/founders who give themselves titles that they don't actually fulfill the typical duties of.

My guess is for most of these companies Musk's role is more accurately described as that of owner/founder. While others within the leadership structure at those companies are taking on the true role of what a CEO would do.

CEO stands for Chief EXECUTIVE Officer.

For example, based on some brief investigating, it appears for SpaceX that Gwynne Shotwell is who is responsible for the day to day operations and company growth.

Stop being so triggered by the title CEO. Your quest to vilify all CEOs makes you look silly and childish, with no apparent real world knowledge of how vastly different most companies are than the handful Elon Musk owns.

I am meeting my CEO out of town today for work.

He paints a more accurate picture of what most CEOs do. Which is work. There are over 38,000 CEOs in the United States. Only a few dozen are comparable to Elon Musk.

How many of the nearly 39,000 CEOs presently employed in the United States do you consider worthy of their title?

Wednesdays are for golf.

And any day that ends in y.

I'm no CEO and I think it's safe to assume that I golf more frequently than the vast majority of CEOs.

I can't speak for most CEOs but Musk works pretty damn "hard".
The man probably works as hard if not harder than 99% of the people in this country.
Notice I didn't put - at being a douche - at the end of those two sentences? I could (should?) have.

You challenged him to answer your questions and he did. Instead of considering his responses, you reply with an annoying attempt at a petty put down. Aren't you the guy who has repeatedly claimed that no one tries to have legitimate conversations here?!? You're doing everything you bitch about.

It's all good.

I agree with Q that there are some worthless CEOs that exist.

There are also worthless cops, fast food workers, lawyers, landscapers, dentists, politicians, etc.

Worthless people exist and occupy jobs in all sectors of the working world.
