Acadia national park is President Bartletts favorite for good reason.

Kansas has trees but trees in other parts of the US blow it out of the water imo.

Kansas's allure is the easy access to the sky and the grasses.

Not to mention, while this stemmed from locations in the United States to get an education and the areas surrounding, Sparko said "all over the world".

To each their own, but I just don't think the Flint hills stack up to other geographical wonders/regions.
And i'm hardly a world traveller.

These are all amazing places just in the US. No one should confine themselves to one spot.
I've always lived in KS or MO, but I've been to all the places you listed above. Grew up in Mulvane, KS, went to KU, graduated, moved to St. Louis for 4 years, then to Kansas City, were I have been since, living on both the KS and MO side.

I've thought about packing up and going somewhere else, but change just for change doesn't always work out or make you happier. Like I would love to move to Denver, but I wouldn't be able to afford a house close to downtown like I can in KC. Denver is cool, but it's more isolated than KC. Mountains are cool, but not a quick day jaunt.

Every person has a personal preference in the environment in which they live.

The issue would be if you say other places aren’t as good as where you live and you’ve been past a neighboring state only a couple times in your life.

You have no frame of reference, you’re like a small child who wanders into the middle of a movie.

Halfway through high school I moved from a very suburban school in Arizona to a very rural one in Arkansas. The culture shock was jarring, but I remember one kid who hadn't left the county. He saw no reason to go to Little Rock because the big city was too crime-ridden and, besides, you couldn't hunt and fish there. To each his own...

Montana is beautiful for sure. I loved Livingston too--but the cold persists. Like Alaska. Alaska overwhelms you with its grandeur, but I always felt like a interloper there. And was, really, as Moose and bears make hasty entrances. Then there are the earthquakes. The Big Bend area of Texas is beautiful; but so remote and so arid in the main. I follow the buffalo I guess.

Ha! Pretty true. I like the Kansas ranges, most of all. A shame that hunting was so crazy.

On realignment: I hope Bowlsby is working with streaming services that have money.

From a practical standpoint, OU/UT have already left. I don't think KU is sitting on its hands.

hope you’re right, but KU can’t do anything if nobody is listening

I do think we have been through this enough to know that nearly all of this stuff is done behind closed doors.

This is exactly what I read at the end of last week. Everything is going to get really quiet now and people will think this means it's all over but in reality this is when the work is happening. Because how did Texas and OU get this done? By doing it in silence.

Right. We don't hear about it until it's done. You have to screw people over in silence.

Be all about the conference and other schools in your state and all that in public, but everyone for themselves behind closed doors.
