The youngster is a walk-on. I have never heard anyone say they desire a roster full of walk-ons.

If he can play he can play.

He's exactly the type of player many want. These lower ranked 4 year guys....

Wonder if they'll change their tune when we struggle without the elite talent.....the first few years of these 4 year guys everyone wants might be rough....hopefully if that's the route we go with roster composition we can stagger the classes well enough to stay at the top.

There seems to be some belief that ALL 4 year guys turn into Frank and Devonte....but the truth is that most don't. As much as so many hated Jamari, I'm surprised people want a team full of Jamari's.
No he's not. He's an unranked invited walk on.

The 4 year players everyone wants are Agbaji, Braun, and McBride, or multi-year guys like McCormack. Nobody I know is clamoring for more Luinstras and Ginger Teahans.

If Jamari developed any sort of a shot, he'd be in the league. If Diallo can make it, Jamari could have made it with any sort of offensive game.

I still like the Jamaris, Relefords, Lucas', Perrys and Svis of the world.

It will be tough to get a consistent 4 years out of those guys and the first few years would be a struggle, but I'm also of the belief that you can't go full Duke and Kentucky and just go heavy on Freshman and Sophomores.

He's a walk on by choice though. Would have gotten scholarships to Nebraska or Wake iirc.

Holy cow. I love Jamari, but he's nothing like Diallo.

Depending on how things shake out in the next few months, he may get himself a scholarship for next year.

If this cat gets significant PT next year it's reasonable to assume our Tourney streak is in jeopardy

you and you're narratives...go root for uk, fanboy

who here said they wanted ALL 4-year guys?

i think most prefer the way Self has, and will likely continue to, built rosters...a base of multi-year players with a few potential 1-and-dones mixed in

Yeah see, I don't know him from Adam. But just in general, I like those type of players.

Not to say I hate the Josh Jackson's and Wiggins, but I seem to gravitate more towards the 3-4 year guys.

I want more multi-year scholaship guys ranked in the 25-100 range. Not more Traylors (ranked 141 on rivals) or walk-ons.

well, Elliot isn't one of those types of players. He wasn't even ranked and he's not on scholarship. Jamari was the lowest ranked of those guys, and he was a 3* ranked about 130 or so.

Kentucky, UNC are both having down recruiting years. UNC chasing a 3-star kid now. It isn't just Kansas or Adidas.

Jamari was bait for Daniels, who went to UConn instead.

I think Elliott played well during the summer camp before last season. Of course, Charlie Moore also played well there.

Insane play. Was that the same year when he dove on the ball head on with the Texas kid down in Austin too?

Jamari just brought heart and hard work to those teams.

So did Frank and Devonte. Only they also brought skill and scoring as well. Let's fish in those waters for "heart and hustle" guys.

Jamari was ranked 136 in his class by 247
Mason was ranked 118 in his class by 247

The were swimming in the same waters.

Now, if you want to argue that Self and Co. are making a shit load of money to be able to identify the differences and their player development should maximize player potential. I'm with you.

HCBS is one of the best.

It's possible that the investigations put some stink on the program.

How is arizona fairing on the trail these last few classes? louisville? they may be carrying some stink also.
