Someone could become the next Rudy at Notre Dame, but that's probably not worth the time or effort, right? Got to find some field that you have a skill or talent in and then use that to your advantage.

Believe it or not, we agree - albeit in a roundabout way.

If workers weren’t so lazy about realizing the strength in our numbers, and that job creators ain’t shit without us, maybe we could set our minds toward things like income equality and a sustainable economy and country!

But instead of wanting that and working for that, we got you and lobster and illy trying to make me the boogeyman instead.

go MERICA!
Nobody made you a boogeyman. Just sort of called you out on your shit.

But for real, it’s about retooling the whole system.

We need an economy that sustains the needs of the many, rather than sustain the greed of the few.

The resources are out there! But rather than focusing on how to sustain life on this planet, we got billionaires trying to come up with space tourism for y’all...who’s gonna get that first early check-in on the moon!
Imo our economy does sustain the needs of many. Need vs want. Plenty of room to improve, i agree with you there. And income inequality is real. But i will never believe hotel check in attendant deserves similar pay to hotel owner or CEO. No matter how rude customers are at the front desk or how early they try to check in.

And when I do, you try to frame it as me being lazy or just looking for handouts.

Cuz hell yea I’m boogeymanning CEOs and bidness owners! Why should they get to enjoy who knows how much in PPP loans and tax breaks? I don’t hear you giving shot those freeloaders...why not?

especially when the burger flippers who made them successful get so much shit for collecting unemployment?
Again the vast majority of business owners do not own Wal-Mart, Coca-Cola, or Amazon.

Yeah, sure.

But at this rate it’s only a matter of time til they’re bought out by one of those companies.

Also, i don't think you know shit about PPP loans and who they helped (not in a mean way, but i think your experience all comes from media headlines meant to outrage you). The majority of people obtaining PPP loans used them for the right reasons. My financial institution did almost 400 of them. Of that list only maybe 2 or 3 made me roll my eyes or question their motives.

Now, I have seen the lists too. And yes some names on it make me roll my eyes a bit and wonder if it was truly needed or if it should have gone to someone else.

I am with you in many aspects. I agree that taxes should favor the people rather than large companies. Much work to do on that front. I just think some of your ideas on it or how to fix it are wildly unrealistic or radically different than what i would want.

How so?

I’m for equitable distribution of economic power, for the sake of workers and communities and everyone; not concentrated distribution only for the sake of corporations.

not just the shareholders, but all the stakeholders.

LOL! Speaking of audits, does the IRS know about your 80K cash that you stated - "Well, my wife and I have more than one source of income. Some of it is paid in cash, some not". ?

I have a unicorn I will sell you cheap. Are you interested?
Up until my early teens I set my mind to be a professional hockey player. While highly doubtful it would happen, that was my goal. No pun intended. I worked my ass off because I wanted it. Then I blew out my knee. I never accomplished my goal.
Now use me and my story as an analogy for MANY people in this country and is it not true? So please spare me the bullshit that anybody can accomplish whatever they want to if they work hard to achieve it.
Be honest, what do you currently do for a living and if you could do or be anything in the world, is your current occupation what you would ultimately choose? For the majority of Americans it is not.

If a guy decides to buy a building. Then the guy buys kitchen equipment. Then the guy buys food to cook. Then he hires a few people to help him (they choose to work here willingly). Then he opens a restaurant.

Why do you think the few people he hired deserve to own "the means of production" that he purchased when they've done nothing to start the business?

You're not for equitable distribution of economic power. You think you deserve what other people have earned. And you don't.

Don't like how a company treats their employees? Don't buy their products. Post negatively about them on social media. Rally their workers and become their competition.

In this country you're not forced to work jobs you don't choose to work (other than rare exceptions). You're not forced to do much of anything.

How immigrants can come here with no money and no education and make wonderful lives for themselves owning businesses or working for someone else, and yet Ousdahl can't because the economic power isn't distributed equitably enough for him to succeed is LOL worthy.

You didn't achieve it, but you had the opportunity to achieve it.

That's the point.

We can't all be CEOs and professional hockey players....but we can all try to be whatever we want.
