There are no bright spots on defense. Almost any team would exploit the edge now. ISU doesn't have the decency to stop.

Unfortunately you are correct. This maybe the worst defense in KU history. Outside of Logan and maybe Kyron Johnson they have ZERO players that belong at the D1 level. ZERO.

In a year I believe this offense could compete. Wilson, Neal, Locklin, and Bean can all play. The offensive line will only get better. You have to be some what optimistic about where the offense might be headed.

I remember Gutter arguing about Northwestern and Kansas qualitative differences. Nebraska is steamrolling them along the lines of the car wreck we watched. Not enough decent players to keep up with the average teams now.

Watching Western Kentucky vs Michigan State. MSU, is clearly the better team but WKU is giving MSUs defense the business. Zappe, the QB for WKU is pretty damn impressive.

KU's defense was destine to fail once it lost Harris, Prunty and Terry. They can't stop anyone.

If you are Wilson or Neal how could you not consider going to a program where you could actually win ball games. With open transfer szn it now reminds me of preseason NFL games were you are putting your game on tape for not only your team but other teams as well.

Yes, Northwestern blows this season. You bring up my arguing "qualitative differences" and I'm not exactly sure what specifically you are referring to. There are some vast differences in the programs.
In terms of success on the field, in the past 10 seasons Northwestern probably won 50 or more games than KU and went to 6 or 7 Bowl games to KU's zero. That's probably the best and most important argument I have for NU > KU.

My point, Gutter was that Northwestern played in an easier conference.

Aha! Well, that's highly debatable and I (as well as many if not most people) may/probably disagree.

One thing I noticed Saturday was that the Big 12 gives no cover to its teams. Alabama pulled back the fangs and let Mississippi preserve some self-respect. Iowa State blitzed. No hand-offs up the middle either. Called a bootleg draw for its second string QB with the game long over.

Quick thought--Mangino used to use corners/safeties as receivers. Wonder if there shouldn't be some back and forth with receivers at corner too.

As much as I am and will remain in favor of free transfer rules and NIL, it makes it that much harder for KU to turn this thing around.

We need so many lucky things to happen.

I think this idle week is another measuring stick for the staff and this team.

I'm expecting to see improvement, and a good gameplan for Tech.

Yep. I've thought that since week 1. Tech game will tell us something.

Never worried about the football coaching aspect of this staff, and they were all out recruiting last week. But, we'll get to see how good they are at coaching next weekend.

Anyone going to the game on Saturday? 65 and sunny. Sounds like perfect fall weather for a field storming.

First game in two years. Use to be able to park in the Adams lot for free. What say you about parking recommendations. I also have a 11 month old. Walking long distances is not our friend for a myriad of reasons.

My guess on the line is like -13.5.

Unfortunately, if I'm able to go to a game this year, it will be the West Virginia game. Even then that's a stretch. Beautiful day for football. Couldn't ask for better weather. 65. No wind, no clouds. Homecoming. The newer old-school jerseys that I love. Tickets for $12 on tickets for less. 3pm kick is perfect. Go tailgate, have a big meal there with some nice adult beverages. On the road and on the way home by 7pm or so to watch the primetime slate of games.

Some computer generated thing said Tech will win like 50-37 or something like that. That would be a fun game to watch.

Go Hawks.

Think Tech is favored by 15.

I havent been in five years but i used to park on Stratford or University and walk down.
Or you can pay one of the yards on Illinois to park close.

Went to kstate game in 2019. Parked in Vermont parking garage and took shuttle.

When family had season tickets when I was a younger Hawk in he early-to-mid 2000s, we would park in lot 62 and then walk up the hill a bit past Watson Library and Bailey Hall, reach the top and then take in the glorious view from Campanile and then walk down to our tailgate spot that had Coach Fam at it at least once per season. The greatest time ever.

holidays-

Look on Craigslist and the secondary market for a donor selling their parking pass within a stone's throw from the stadium. Could be the best $50 you spend considering you have mom and baby to worry about.

Thanks for the responses everyone! Much appreciated. I am super pumped to bring the whole family out! Is it frowned upon to bring a 11 month old to the Hawk? What about the roof top of the Oread?

Yeah I have ZERO problem spending extra on a parking pass. Even a little bit of a walk wouldn't be that bad. Shuttles are out of the question.

You see a guy with a Steven Sims jersey on with a little girl in a Jayhawk cheerleader outfit say hello. First round is on me.
