Insane play. Was that the same year when he dove on the ball head on with the Texas kid down in Austin too?
Jamari just brought heart and hard work to those teams.
So did Frank and Devonte. Only they also brought skill and scoring as well. Let's fish in those waters for "heart and hustle" guys.
Jamari was ranked 136 in his class by 247
Mason was ranked 118 in his class by 247
The were swimming in the same waters.
Now, if you want to argue that Self and Co. are making a shit load of money to be able to identify the differences and their player development should maximize player potential. I'm with you.
Maybe 247 just sucked at recruit ranking back then.
Frank was #76 on rivals while Jamari was #141. That seems a little more accurate.

Even then, once you get outside of 50, the lines start to blur.
Mason was all over the board. 247 actually had him at 52, their composite ranking for him was what was 118. Conversely, 247 had Josh Hart ranked 123 but his composite was 79.
There's a pretty good consensus on the top 50 guys, then outside that the recruiting services have a lot of disparity.
Here were Mason's RSCI rankings >100, >100, >100, 76, 88, 52
McBride and Braun are both somewhere between where Traylor and Mason were.

why did it take so long to formally submit?
and why couldn't the NCAA offer some ruling before the draft deadline?

My understanding is that the appeal gets a quick response from the NCAA. Idk why it took so long but it was probably to gather more facts and that meant it ran too long to get in before the draft deadline.
Look for a draft declaration so he can cover his bases.

If that's the case, they shoulda filed it the week after the suspension was announced. Maybe he coulda played by March.

I'm sure part of the delay is the wording/labeling Gassnola as a "booster"... everything in the appeal surrounding him had to be air tight. Being required to call him a booster already opens up a door for the NCAA, can't have anything else that's questionable. Just my guess...

In an appeal, KU lawyers are tracking down information on every NCAA suspension for impermissibles.
A good compliance department would be proactively tracking that information as they happen and have it available as needed.

Indeed. A compliance department should be able to do everything at all times, no excuses.

Way to go full Illy there. Overdramatized to the max seems to be more normal than ever around here lately.
It doesn't take more than 5 minutes to add a record to a database when a penalty to a player is announced. Any student in the KU IT Department should be able to build them a basic tracking database for class credit.

Dude, you go "full illy" as much as anyone on this site. Including me. It's hilarious you throw that insult around so much, while being totally oblivious to your own posting habits. LULZ.
