He'd bring over left over pizza or chicken around 1 AM on Fridays or Saturdays.
Absolute garabage, i'm sure, but was fine dining to us at that moment.
A good friend of mine worked at Quiznos for most of college. He'd bring the soups home every night (rather than dump 'em). Decent stuff for a college kid.

He owns seven franchises now, last I knew.

Hold up, there are still Quiznos around? Or he owns seven franchises, but maybe not all Quiznos. Either way, Quiznos still around?

And yeah, getting Quiznos soup in college would essentially be getting Ruth's Chris nowadays.

Quiznos. He's got a few DQs, as well.

Some girls think it's cool to be known as the girl who will go to a strip club just to get a grilled cheese.

No one goes anywhere just for a grilled cheese.

Quiznos was also one of only three quick options near my law school. I haven't touched it since I graduated. Over it forever.

Acropolis in portland has a pretty dang good steak. The owners also raise beef. Id probably go their just for the steak. Havent been there in over 10 years though. Might have changed.

Common college story. Ours was Panera and the on campus dining places.

No franchise owners, though.

I had Quizno's once, I hated it. All I remember about it is a triple nozzle goop squirter. I thought, "Man, that's a lot of goop for a sammich, then they triple nozzled the other side. For those that like it, more power to ya.

I've put this take elsewhere (and what's it doing in the Covid thread anyway?), but: cold sandwiches are stupid things to spend money on.

Yeah, any sandwich place. I’d eat all the subway footlongs before ever going to cici’s again.

I disagree. I've had some really good cold sandwiches top notch ingredients. Like Avocado doesn't go well warmer sandwiches.

Well it's a must for work travel b/c often the only other option is McDonald's.

But, if it's a deli meat sandwich, I am actually an un-toasted guy. Jersey Mike's, Goodcents, and then I have everything else pretty far below those.

I think the take is obviously when there are choices or when near home. I've lived off gas station prepackaged sandwiches because there were no other options while traveling. I would gladly pay 3x
for a shitty restaurant BLT, but wasn't in the cards.
