When I think of Memphis I can't forget when they were known as Memphis State and they came to Allen in 85. Almost all of their players were from Memphis and they were #3 in the country. They were an extremely physical and athletic team. I think they were 16-1 or 17-1 when we played them and I think it we won by 3, 4, or 5. They went to the Final Four that season. That was the last time KU was not in the tournament - despite our being ranked in the top ten in the final week of the regular season. Fuck the NCAA!
1989 we weren't in the tourney....Ed Manning.
also, interesting...Memphis has to vacate that 1985 final four appearance too

You are 100% correct! I am an idiot! Not sure what I was (wasn't) thinking.
We were a 3 seed in 85 and lost early (in the 2nd round) to Auburn.
It was 89 we were "banned" from the tourney - I think/thought primarily due to the b.s. Askew situation.

Looking at that Bracketology, I like KU to beat Weber St by 29, then beat Iowa by 9, then beat UCLA by 6, then beat Gonzaga by 2, then beat Purdue by 6, then beat Arizona by 4.
Shame that's not going to happen.
This might be the longest streak of tournament games that I have NOT attended since 1986.
I'm not happy I probably won't be able to attend a single tournament game this season - when a bunch are going to be played close to my home (Milwaukee, Indianapolis, and Chicago). Can't go to the FF this year either. Slight possibility I could catch a few games in Philadelphia.
Don't know if I will still be alive in 10 years but if I am, I plan to be retired, have no commitments other than to myself, and will travel to any and all tournament games I would like to attend.

If Oklahoma can do us a favor right now, and we can take care of the kitties later, then come Monday night, we could be facing Texas Tech for the potential of a 2 game lead.

I hate ESPNs new format so much.
It's just awful UX AND UI.

Nigel Pack. 5 points at half on 1-6 shooting and 0-2 from 3 against Baylor as they are down 39-21.

Arizona isn’t ready for prime time. Young team, too inexperienced.

They lost on the road to a top 10 team. No real shame in that. I'm not writing them off.
If I am not mistaken, all the top 10 teams have lost games they were favored to win.
Auburn lost to UConn
Gonzaga lost to Alabama
Baylor lost to OSU
Kansas lost to Dayton
Purdue lost to Rutgers
Houston lost to Alabama
UCLA lost to Oregon
Duke lost to 3 inferior teams
MSU lost to Northwestern

Arizona looked like the real deal when they beat Illinois on the road.

Charlie Moore hit a game winner tonight. Half court buzzer beater. Also just a reminder Charlie Moore is still playing college ball lol

Maybe the Champions Classic should be a home/away/neutral round robin event every year. Shit, for all I care declare a winner on aggregate differential.

I would prefer that over a non con game in the middle of the conference season.
Or have the SEC/B12 challenge be in late December, when the teams have gotten some games under their belts, before the keeds go on break.

Should absolutely play Kentucky, our current biggest rival, every year. Not the last weekend of January, though.

I have said this multiple times today - please forgive my ignorance.
Why do people feel it matters what point of the season we play a non-conference game?
