Fascinating stuff! Thanks for sharing!
You’re welcome!
The GOP is reeling after the unexpected political hit from the Supreme Court gutting Roe vs. Wade. Now they are left to try to figure out a way to not lose as many voters who are completely opposed to what has been done.KUTradition wrote: ↑Thu Sep 15, 2022 9:58 am he just picked 15 weeks…cuz, ya know…it sounded good to him
Once republicans decided to abandon their previous deeply held "principals" such as fiscal responsibility, limited government, personal freedom, et al., they keep running into problems with laws they previously alleged to believe in. Because, how can you possibly keep women in their place and dependent on males, i.e., barefoot and pregnant, if they're allowed to decide when and with whom they want to have children?TDub wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 7:45 am So this is pretty funny...
During the Obama years Wyoming added an amendment that stated that competent adults could make their own health care decisions (to avoid the Obama care requirements)....
Because of that, their recent bid to ban abortion failed on the grounds it directly conflicted with the recently added amendment that stated that "competent adults could make their own health care decisions"

makes me wonder about the situation for trans adults
Of course, there's so much internal hypocrisy within pubs' own positions on abortion. A couple of my favorites come back to the sanctity of life.*Feral wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 9:20 amOnce republicans decided to abandon their previous deeply held "principals" such as fiscal responsibility, limited government, personal freedom, et al., they keep running into problems with laws they previously alleged to believe in. Less than a month ago the fascist, I mean, republican-controlled legislature in FL got rid of the "resign to run" law, which will allow DeFascist to run for president without requiring him to resign as governor, first.
Another example: Republicans used to own mail-in balloting, but once democrats started catching up and Trump needed fodder for his "rigged election" Big Lie propaganda, they're cutting back on that and a plethora of other measures that make it easier to vote, because the more people who vote, the more likely they are to lose.
Yes. Don't think this positioning is accidental. It would be PERFECTLY down the pub fairway to (1) agree to "people-pleasing" restrictions on gun buying/ownership for people with "mental health issues," and (2) in seemingly-unrelated legislation or litigation, codify transsexuality (or even LGBTQ+ status generally) as a "mental health issue."TDub wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 9:56 amKUTradition wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 9:43 amha!TDub wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 7:45 am So this is pretty funny...

well Randy insists thats trans is a mental illness....so I'm sure the powers that be will use that logic to determine that they arent competent adults.
Anyone who choose to be anything other than a white, male, church-going, gun owning heterosexual clearly has mental health issues.jfish26 wrote: ↑Sun May 21, 2023 10:32 amYes.
