Honestly, a ton of the MVP votes are usually cast on or before week 15. Writers dint like to vote too late especially once some of these games are meaningless.

Tampa Bay too. Another road victory over a play-off team. Mahomes manages games and can flip a switch. Rodgers really benefits from GB’s location. Tonight is a great example.
I have waited my whole life for a QB like Mahomes. Rodgers will win the MVP. But the Chiefs are where they are only thru 15

KC has clinched.
Rodgers still has to play.
He has another game to do his thing.

He’ll win. And there’s good argument there.

Like Jordan once said. You can win the regular season MVP but I’ll win the more important one.
Media, TV and the NFL’s dream, DREAM scenario the Chiefs vs Packers in the SB aka Mahomes and Rodgers.

The NFL for sure wants the Chiefs to come out of the AFC.

On the NFC side, any of Packers/Saints/Bucs would be fine. Probably Seahawks as well.

Basically any team with a superstar QB.

I happen to agree AND....
I find it interesting there are at least 20 NFL teams that have a larger metropolitan area than KC and ALL the other teams have a larger metropolitan area than GB.
I'm assuming the Bears don't make it so I will be happy if it's a GB/KC Super Bowl.
BUT.......
I really don't think the NFL, media, TV, etc., would mind too much if the Buccaneers (and not the Packers) played the Chiefs in the Super Bowl.

In large part because of a huge choke job in 2018 by the Vikings, still no team has ever played a Super Bowl in their own stadium.

I'm hoping the Bucs are the first team to do so this postseason.

That would be fun to have Tampa in the Super Bowl. Just a tough road for them, honestly. On the road in the first game against the NFC will be easy for them. But then they'll have to play against one of the NFC monsters, Green Bay, NO or Seattle. The NFC is soooo top heavy, while the AFC is loaded in spots 1-8.

I think every team looks vulnerable, even in the NFC. Except for the Chiefs, but it sure seemed that a year ago that both KC and SF were playing better than any team this year at this point in the season.

I really like how Green Bay is looking. Offense is top notch, defense is not great but improving each and every week. Granted, they've played some average opponents, but they are still allowing something like 20 ppg against in the last 6 games. That'll play.

Kind of similar path to KC last year. Offense was always great, defense was spotty but was turning it on at the right time. They are going to get the 1 seed, and everything will go through the Frozen Tundra and they are likely going to be in Tampa Bay.

I just think KC is clear and away the best team in the AFC. They went through a tremendously difficult road schedule this year and didn't really struggle in those games, especially against the top teams (Bucs, Saints, Bills and Dolphins were all games that KC handled comfortably.

Will Mahomes even make an appearance this Sunday?
I'm feeling no, despite his being close to 5,000 yards.

Chad Henne and company.
Under/over receiving yards for Byron Pringle set to 43.5.

The Chiefs have to be the heaviest AFC favorite since the dominant New England days.

A lot because Mahomes is going to win both a shootout and a close game, but also because of major bumbling in the AFC North.

No I don't think they'll play Mahomes, Kelce, Hill or Bell.

Going to be Henne, DRob, Hardman and Pringle out wide and Williams and Thompson in the backfield

I think watching the games over the last few weeks, Reid put a premium on down and outs and tried his best not to put Kelce and others in danger with medium crossing routes and risky targets. It has cost KC some points for sure, but the team is reasonably healthy going into the Chargers game, which they should treat as a bye. The Titans last night ran cross after cross and were banged up. Would not be surprised to see them lose to Houston. And Rivers. Man can he squander leads and opportunities. Just needed one solid drive to win the whole second half. Did. Not. Happen. Then there is Rivers Jr. in Cleveland. Let's fumble again on a sneak. He is too small to be put in a scrum.

But then you think, OK, well Chris Jones, Frank Clark and Honey Badger won't play...but what about starters like Fisher, Ward, Breeland and Sorenson?

I think Fisher is the only one out of that list that won't play.

There's probably going to be 8-10 players out. But I think only 5 will be out all game and 4 of those are the first names I mentioned with Mahomes, Kelce, Hill and Bell and the last being Fisher. I don't think the defensive guys will sit out much, they need the repetition and game reps about more than anyone else. They are going to struggle the most if they have 2 weeks off. They'll probably play the half and go from there.

The offense makes this team go. And they will be the ones that take the team far.

Obviously there is a difference between literally resting guys and not playing guys because you don't want them to MAYBE get injured.
I am assuming it's a good thing the Chiefs will have an extra week to rest - but the flip side is if you rest guys this week - do you want a team with a 10-11 game win streak to have players not play for 20 or so days?
Can you tell I am conflicted?
