I love the part where he says: "...I just found, isn't that amazing? This totally wins my case, you know."

Just completely bonkers how brazenly careless he is. Openly flaunting classified information that he should not have to people who should not see it. There is nothing less than a prison sentence that is justified if they find him guilty.

With all due respect, it is hardly bonkers. It's perfectly in keeping with everything else that we know about him.

A. You guys know zsn is like your Randy, right? Or at least he would be if Sparko didn't already occupy that roster slot.
B. Trump's real crime? Being the biggest attention-whore douchebag Gaia ever made?
A. I hope Señor Randall realizes what a huge compliment you just gave him.
B. Is "attention whoring douchebaggery" a federal felony now? Shit is gonna hit the fan if they start enforcing that more often.
Why did Trump take the docs? Why did he show them to people and brag about them? Why did he have an affair with Stormy Daniels? Why did he force himself on E. Jean Carroll? Why did/does he insist that he won the last election and it was stolen from him?
In every case (and every other case as well), his behavior is the result of his preternatural insecurity, demand for constant reassurance, and belief that he is entitled to whatever he thinks will bring him the respect/affection/power he "deserves."
Everything he does is driven by his insecure, narcissistic douchebaggery.

Also, it's not "careless." It's purposeful.
Yes, it's purposeful that he is showing them because it makes his balls tingle to have such "power". He was treating them like they were a gift from the military. What's careless is that he is showing them to some random person who has no business looking at them. Every person with any sort of access to him should be targeted by foreign intelligence services to turn as a mark to gather intel from.
I doubt the thought "maybe I shouldn't be showing this to this person" ever even floated through his syphilis-addled swiss cheese brain.

Except it very audibly *did*. That’s the power of the tape (as opposed to the transcript).

Lots of weight on “purposeful”. I suspect a trained mental health expert would suggest this is more of an involuntary symptom of a larger disorder complex. I think Trump is just hard-coded to behave a certain way, which happens (in this instance) to be obviously criminal.

I’d say it’s “purposeful” if the end purpose is satisfying the whims of a narcissistic man child.
But when the end purpose is satisfying the whims of a narcissistic man child, I dunno if much “care” is really given about much of anything else.

I just think part of the pub shell game here is making the goalposts a sale or trade of the information. A quid pro quo.
That's the trap well-intentioned people fell into in Impeachment #1.
It's beside the fucking point here. And my radar is very very very closely tuned to any suggestion that proving malign intent is required in order to support a conviction and lengthy sentence here.

At it is important to note that legally, it doesn't matter whether it was careless or purposeful. Both breaks the same law that he is charged with.

Absent significant, objective exculpatory evidence*, there is not a reasonable case to be made that Trump did not commit multiple felonies. However, his defense strategy won't rely at all on, you know, defending against the actual charges.
* Of course this might exist. But if it did, there have already been several inflection points at which it would almost certainly have come out. And of course the excuses Trump HAS offered are silly.

Didn't someone famous once say: "Don't Fcuk with the feds"?
One hour ago:
Over the past couple of days, the grand jury looking into the false electors scheme to overturn the election in Trump’s favor has seen a lot of action, including testimony a senior Trump campaign officials that has set off a chain of potential cooperators. Harry explains how the Department of Justice typically handles conspiracy situations such as these, and what he thinks the developments mean for Jack Smith’s case.

For the sake of message boreding, let’s hear more about how this is purposeful, not careless, and hardly bonkers.
Maybe Trump really is about to win some game of 5D chess.

Well, I think Trump genuinely, deeply believes that he has done nothing wrong.
He is genuinely, deeply wrong, but.

Large of Rick to show concern:
Rick Wilson is doing a little wellness check in on Donald Trump, who is having the worst week ever (and it’s only Tuesday). Between his BFF Putin faltering, more rats selling him out, and that damning audio recording of him showing classified docs to anyone that will look, things are only getting worse from here.

You know what would be SUPER fun, would be being the scout team QB for Smith’s prosecution of Trump. Like, your job would be to come up with the batshittiest and worst-faith arguments. Because that’s what Trump’s got, and what Smith has got to prepare for.
