you're a glutton for underachievement and dissappointment then.
5 seasons with 30+ wins since he's been at UK.
He hasn't been as good as Self, but he's been as good as any other active major conference college coach over that time span wins wise, right?

HCBS is the top dog.
but. he was not the undisputed top dog until a handful of dudes retired. before the dudes stepped away. he was just in the conversation.

I was high on Nate Oats until he let an accomplice to murder finish out the season for him.
No thank you.
And it's not just that. It's been one questionable judgment thing after another.
(He's one of TWO seemingly layup successor candidates who are off the list for (broadly) this sort of thing, the other of the two doesn't even get
mentioned anymore, which is really something.)

No. His agent wouldn't.
Neither would Sampson's agent.
Calipari would be blowing KUs phone up offering his services though. He'd love to get out of Lexington.
And UK would love to be out from under the contract.
No thank you. I'm not sure my diehard fandom would survive that hire.

I'd take him 100x over Scott Drew. Or Kelvin Sampson. Or Nate Oats.
Your fandom would survive Cal just fine. His views on player compensation aline with yours. He'd have you eating out of his hand in no time.

I don't think a single one of those three sentences is true!

I'm just glad we won't have to find out who is right.

On one hand, I’d rather not with Cal.
But on the other hand, run “Cal to KU” hypothetically and just think how delicious Rupp Rafters would be about it.
A special kind of comedy, even!

Cal is almost 4 years older than Self so I am hoping Cal has already retired by the time that Self finally does.

UK fans have turned sour on Cal. It would be an orgy.

Yes. I am guessing Cal is in his last 5 years or so before he retires. Self is probably a year or two behind that schedule if I had to guess.

Nice!
Tyshawn cracks me up...."if we are being honest we ran the same play the last 7 posessions".

Getting back to Sherron.
Since I am going to hell anyways, I found this video of him in High School.

Lots of insight in these weekly talks.
Key takeaways for me were:
1st, non basketball related, welcome back Gary Woodland. Looked decent yesterday in his return to the PGA Tour.
Self seems comfortable and confident in DH despite the increase in turnovers. Too careless at times and needs to clean it up, but Self basically says it is because they are willing to take more risks in an effort to create some looks. More chances more interceptions though.
Furphy has been better than Elmarko lately so Furphy is the new 5th starter.
Said the other night on an important possession late (not sure off the top of my head which one) 4 people knew what to do and 1 didn't and it fucks the plays up when that happens. I am guessing the person who fucked up is the one not starting anymore but who knows.....but that goes into Qusdahls recent request that we "run plays" for Elmarko. It is hard for freshman to know "the plays". It takes time. Years even. To instinctually know where the opportunities are going to come. Just look at Kj as a shining example. His experience allows him to know exactly how to get his opportunities despite his limited offensive skillset shooting wise. I really think it takes until your 2nd year before it seems like guys really "get it". Offensively and defensively. We see it every year and it's why we've typically seen more success from our multi-year players than our highly touted freshman.
I am curious to see how tomorrow goes. I want to see how Furphy fits defensively, but to Pdubs point the other day, we really need a boost in offense. Furphy totally gives us another element that we need. Maybe we can pump the crappy kenpom AdjO rating up into the low 20s or high teens over the next few weeks running Furphy closer to 25mpg instead of Elmarko.

Woodland is 2 over and missed the cut at -2.

I think I might know which one…it was under 5-6 minutes and Hunter was pointing to where Elmarko should go.
