It is supposed to be bad. It is a comedy show.
That was some funny shit though. The interviewer dude asking the questions was so on point.

Again, if you're the one in the thread arguing that 15,000 largely-preventable deaths are fine and a rounding error, some introspection is in order.randylahey wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 6:40 am 333,985,000

15000 sounds bad if you wanna focus in that.
But that mean there's almost 334 million that aren't hospitalized with covid. Sad but still small potatoes
Just so I have some perspective, what's the magic percentage of the population that has to die before you consider this a big deal?randylahey wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 6:40 am 333,985,000

In other words, if/when someone you love gets Covid and gets seriously ill (and dies?), you're cool with people telling you it's sad but we shouldn't really care because it's just one potato?randylahey wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 6:40 am 333,985,000

This isn’t the total. This is just the folks in ICUs right now. A slice of right this second of how many ICU deaths. Not the people that will never make it to an ICU. Not the 650,000 (entire state of Vermont) or the tens or hundreds of thousands of future preventable deaths.jfish26 wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 7:32 amAgain, if you're the one in the thread arguing that 15,000 largely-preventable deaths are fine and a rounding error, some introspection is in order.randylahey wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 6:40 am 333,985,000

There would certainly be a mutation also that came from no mitigation that would be deadlier too.TraditionKU wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 7:46 am i think some forget that these numbers are happening WITH mitigation
one can only imagine where we’d be if we just sat by and “let” covid run roughshod through the population
Or the number of children, now that the delta variant is putting our kids in hospitals.twocoach wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 7:34 amJust so I have some perspective, what's the magic percentage of the population that has to die before you consider this a big deal?randylahey wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 6:40 am 333,985,000

Oh, absolutely. I was just zeroing in on the particular heartlessness in not giving a shit about these 15,000 soon-to-be dead people, whose deaths are largely preventable but for dumbshit grandstanding.dub needs a codpiece wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 7:44 amThis isn’t the total. Well if enforcement is anything like their mask rules inside the parks then I doubt it will matter much.
When in June were you there?BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 9:17 amWell if enforcement is anything like their mask rules inside the parks then I doubt it will matter much.
Some businesses make rules for safety. Others make rules for optics.
I am not sure which Disney will be, but they have mask rules and they weren't really being enforced when i was there in June.

Vax requirement quite a bit different in practice.BasketballJayhawk wrote: ↑Wed Aug 25, 2021 9:17 amWell if enforcement is anything like their mask rules inside the parks then I doubt it will matter much.
