A is acceptable. B isn't. Frank Mason was unanimous NPOY.

I'm going big with bigs that can dribble (minus Arthur)
Embiid 3
Arthur 2
Lawson 2
Marcus 4
Taylor 3
RussRob
My strategy is to immediately call time out and sub in RussRob when needed LOL

“National Champion Starters for $9, Alex”
1 Russell Robinson ($0)
2 Mario Chalmers ($4)
3 Brandon Rush ($4)
4 Darrell Arthur ($1)
5 Sasha Kaun ($0)
6 Darnell Jackson ($0)
That is $9 for a GREAT college team.
DP’s $15 Team:
1 Mason ($5)
2 EJ ($1)
3 J.Jackson ($3)
4 TRob ($5)
5 Withey ($1)
6 Releford ($0)
That is $15 for a balanced team of height, ball handlers, speed, 3-pt shooting, defense, etc while sticking to $15.

That particular team is about as good as our 2012 Final Four team (which: your mileage may vary on what that means).

Nailed them both.
$9 team wins the Big 12 this year, easily

Just can’t argue for EJ being on there when there are so many other better options.

EJ is definitely the weak link, but he fit the budget. His junior year, he was a serviceable shooting guard on offense. I’d be happy switching out EJ for Seldon as the shooting guard.

I love your lineup.
I just think the drop off from Chalmers to EJ is greater than TRob to Dedric.

Personally, I think I would favor Dedric over TRob.

Whoa.
I don’t know bout that one.
Dedric does have range though.

TRob was points. Give him the ball in the post and he scored. He did not foul. He was not soft. He did not goof up the defense. He showed some emotion. He would put a team on his back.
His junior (final) year, TRob averaged 17.7 and 11.9, points and rebounds.
Recall that there was a campaign to make him NPOY and he was beat out by the unibrow dude (aka freak of nature generational talent).
If Dedric wills KU to a NC game and shows some emotion while doing it, I might consider him at the 4. No, I lied. TRob gets the spot.
This is all an interesting exercise. This is not my ALL FAVORITE players. Far from it. Interesting that I have to consider people/players that I wasn’t really a huge fan of.

T-Rob was pretty bad on defense in 2012. That was by design.
Dedric's block numbers aren't bad, but I wouldn't call him a good defender, probably a slight edge over T-Rob.
Still, pretty clear edge to T-Rob overall because he just dominated, but I'm not sure for this exercise as I can't remember each player's $ worth.

At $2...Dedric is a better buy that T Rob at $5

Thank you Geez! I did in fact say "MAY".
mil - If you think Dee Brown being a better college basketball player than Frank Mason, Devonte Graham, Chalmers, etc. is "so ridiculously moronic" - then I assume you didn't watch much college basketball in the early to mid 2000s. Dee Brown was plenty damn good.
Yes, Mason and Graham (and even Chalmers) MAY have been better players than Brown.
No one can definitively convince me they were.

Yes.
Dedric ( I think shafted for B12 POY and who should be on the 2nd team AA ) at $2 and Withey at $1 are steals.

Well, I think Dr. Pepper illustrated the main issue with selecting really any player over $1-3 and what should be the main takeaway from the entire exercise: an embarrassment of riches, and you don't even need $10 to put together an incredible team.
I've seen some say the only $5 player they'd even think about is Frank, and understandably so. But then you have a Final Four MOP PG for $4, for $3 you can get Tyshawn who arguably had the best conference run of any guard Bill's ever had, for $2 you can get the school's all-time assists leader, and for free you can have the best freshman PG Bill's ever had.

If we're talking college only, the 2 best PG's Bill's ever had are Mason and Graham. That's really not very close of a controversial statement, either.
