If our local teachers union was smart and ruthless, they would go on strike starting the first day they let kids go back to school and demand a 100% pay raise. Every person who is spending their day juggling their own full time job with being a teacher to their kids would demand that the increase in pay be given to them. They deserve it.
Yes. That's a spectacular idea. One of your best!
Lighten up, Francis. This is the fun, random comments thread.

What is going on with you people and toilet paper? I luckily had a fresh 24 pack that was unopened before all this went down.
My cousin, who is in the wholesale game, said he estimated he had 11,000 rolls, and people are going nuts for them.
Got damn Vega. I mean, good for him. But that's fucking insane.
He's supplying them to businesses, in the normal course of business. It's his normal inventory, but companies are putting in huge orders for toilet paper, and he had to put a limit on fulfilling those orders.
I misread what you had first said. I thought he was like a damn extreme couponer or some shit like that. That's my bad. I completely get what he does now.

No kidding. I was picturing a random person with an outbuilding full of toilet paper packages. 11,000 rolls isnt fitting in my pantry.

That sounds like one shopping trip for a good hoarder. Lobster will be there in a nano second.

Lobster would be trying to sell single ply squares off a 1000 foot triple ply roll

Wife and I did 7 hours of yard work today. And we actually got along the entire time.
50 bags of mulch purchased. 39 used. Laid down tarp under mulch. Dozens of plants in the ground. New solar lights throughout yard. And it was not great weather. Wind was howling and in the 50s. I am fucking exhausted.
These are the times I wished I lived in a town home or some shit in a big city and don’t worry about this.

That is a lot of work. I'm having mulch delivered next weekend.

I hear ya. I'm 47 and I get sore just from mowing the lawn..lol. Of course yesterday with the wind gusts, I was picking up broken branches from my 80 year old Oak tree like every hour. I mowed the front yard and I was a bit nervous a large branch was going to come crashing on me.

Week 3 for me...it's getting tough, probably at least another 4-6 weeks of this work from home. I feel as time goes on, I get less productive.

I'm losing focus at work for sure. I'm also sleeping later, and lack of exercise is taking a chunk out of my mood and overall well being. All you folks with more than a single bedroom or any sort of outside space shouldn't take it for granted. I can only putz around my apt so many times.

A friend of mine is trying to get out of the NY/NJ area tomorrow to the Poconos before PA shuts down all short term rentals.

That’s nice of your friend to take his nyc crude to the country. I’m sure the locals say thank you.
Tell your friend to do the world a favor and stay put.

I'm definitely finding it harder to get up when my alarm goes off, and sort of walk around my house in a dazed funk until I make some coffee. I can get out since I live in a house and tinker around on things. Yesterday I mowed the back yard around 1 pm...lol. I also go out to my garage and mess with my trikes (usually just wipe them down) and I've been ordering a bunch of new OE bolts and replacing them. I also take my dog for a walk a couple times a day, but there is nobody out. It's eerie.
I need to wash my car, but I figure what's the point, it just sits for the most part.

He's torn by this sentiment so graciously supplied by you.
He is going to bring 14 days of food and self quarantine there.
He has two young children.
I would be concerned as well.

What's the difference then? He's more likely to get it traveling a hundred miles into unknown places than just shutting the door and flipping on the Flixs.

The young people are supposed to be so “woke.”
70 students from UT chartered a plane and went to Cabo for spring break. Upon their return 28 tested positive. So far 28.
The young people are supposed to be so “woke.”

He is cooped up in a small space ( apartment complex ) like you described -- I think there is a greater chance of his getting it in and around a congested space than at a country home with no visible neighbors.
He wants to be able to take his children outside.
Also being in a bigger city comes with its perks but also its fears.
