Atlanta gets a top notch player.
Kinda sad for the Spurs but they needed to tear it all down earlier after Kawhi fucked them.
They have a ton of first round picks in the next few years.

I was surprised the Spurs let Murray go. He's a stud.

I think they were realistic and said, I don't think we can contend in the next few years, even with Murray.
They got 3 1sts and a draft swap plus a useful player in Galinari.
They'll struggle this year, get a high draft pick, and look to build over the next 2-3 years with eyes on that big FA sign at the end of that.

At least it's flat, easier to scorch.

There's got to be a time when no matter how good a player is, a team still isn't going to trade for him. Didn't Kyrie just opt back in after reports came out the Nets aren't able to find a team willing to agree to a sign and trade? Don't blame teams for wanting to stay away from guys like him and Simmons. KD may be a whiny bitch, but at least he plays when he's healthy.

I'm pretty sure this is at least the second Lifetime Achievement Award (Stupid Games, Stupid Prizes) that the Nets have won...in my lifetime.

Hilarious. Brooklyn wins the Durant lottery and completely fucks it up.

Durant just can't stay happy. Whoever gets him needs to be happy with increased ticket sales for 18 months. That's all you're getting from this dude.

They're one of a very special subset of sports teams that just
cannot avoid shooting themselves in the dick.

Time to saddle him with the GM Bron baggage. You just CANNOT hitch your wagon to paid-Kyrie and expect anything better than the worst.

I'm not a believer in karma, but they were the best team in the 2021 playoffs and bad luck unraveled their title. Makes you wonder.

Was it bad luck, though?

I guess Irving and Harden have had injuries over their careers, but the timing of both of them going down wasn't ideal.

Nets got 2 1st round picks back from the Harden to Philly trade.
But here's what they originally gave up for Harden:
2023 first round pick (swap rights)
2024 first round pick
2025 first round pick (swap rights)
2026 first round pick
2027 first round pick (swap rights)

Yeah, they're fucked. Right in the ear.

They can expect a decent haul from Durant.
And they'll get something for Kyrie too.
But all of that is discounted b/c of the crazy.
Ben Simmons, any thoughts?

Of course, Durant has done them no favors my making this public.
