His stats are good, but the eye test leaves something to be desired more often than I’d like.
Definitely had some good moments, but I caught myself constantly waiting for him to do something dumb or imprecise.

No doubt we would rather Daniels but I think it’s closer than most on the bored think. Both are the best QBs we have had in a while and that’s a good thing.Sparko wrote: ↑Sat Apr 15, 2023 9:18 am Bean had some miserable high leverage series last year. His overall stats are good to a point. Tech, OU, KSU. We were asking for Vasko a few times. But he is a good back-up who can be used other ways too:

Bean does a number of things well but he hasn’t learned you can press the throw button at different pressures to get touch/loft.
Re: Kansas Football 2023 Season
now, that i'm out of the box (maybe my handle should be "cool hand"), i'll say that sean will make ku special teams better. he's done that everywhere he has coached. and k-state fans having a fit about this are ignorant. bill is past 80 now. i'm sure sean wants to be closer. his illinois gig was temporary. i thought he'd end up in ames where special teams aren't, but matty's too bright for that, i guess. sean's a coach at heart and a damn good one. ku wins on this hire. lance continues to build a program. and yes, it would be ironic if someday he ended up in lawrence as head coach. sean snyder's hawks v. collin klein's cats.

that’s one stinky box.
and you almost made it to the pinnacle!

I bet all my kcrim bucks we don’t finish last in the B12.
Re: Kansas Football 2023 Season
4 wins?
Bet all that over.
Bet all that over.

gee, wonder why you’d post that image…
Have we fallen into a mesmerized state that makes us accept as inevitable that which is inferior or detrimental, as though having lost the will or the vision to demand that which is good?
Re: Kansas Football 2023 Season
ku projected 4th. thought that would be interesting here.

i’m sure that’s why you posted the graphic, rather than just saying “so-and-so projects KU fourth”

That’s also really low on TCU.
Re: Kansas Football 2023 Season
it's not my ranking.

Week 1 — Missouri State: W
Week 2 — Illinois: W
Week 3 — @ Nevada: W
Week 4 — BYU: W
Week 5 — @ Texas: L
Week 6 — UCF: W
Week 7 — @ Oklahoma State: W
Week 8 — Bye
Week 9 — Oklahoma: L
Week 10 — @Iowa State: L
Week 11 — Texas Tech: L
Week 12 — Kansas State: L
Week 13 — @ Cincinnati: W
The skinny: Kansas is set to boast one the Big 12's best quarterbacks in Jalon Daniels, and they'll need him to stay healthy for the Jayhawks to notch their first winning season since 2008. Illinois will likely be favored over Kansas in Week 2, but don't rule out the Jayhawks on home field as they look to start hot for a second straight fall (mind you, the Big 12 went 4-1 against the Big Ten last year). Having K-State, Texas, Oklahoma and even Texas Tech all on the schedule isn't the easiest of Big 12 Conference draws for the Jayhawks, but three of those games come on home turf. Candidly, it wouldn't be a surprise if Kansas has more success on the road than at home this year with how the schedule sets up.

Re: Kansas Football 2023 Season
I think Houston and Cincy get thrashed all year. Holgerson ain't it and Fickell leaving for Wisconsin hurt Cincy big time.
I think KU can finish middle of the pack just fine. They're probably on par right now with oSu, UCF, BYU and Iowa State.
I can see a 7-5 or 8-4 if Jalon stays healthy. Non-con going to be huge to determine record. Having BYU visit Lawrence will be fun because those Mormons are everywhere. It has a chance to be a sneaky-full stadium regardless of the record of both of the teams.

Re: Kansas Football 2023 Season
illinois will be a tricky game for the jayhawks. bielema is a fine coach. and he seems to have reset that program slightly ahead of lance. win that one as forecasted here in the 247 piece and watch out.

They played at Wisconsin a few years back and had a really good showing there by their fans.
