Like I said, I might cut him some slack if this wasn't on the heels of echoing Nazi messages and meeting with pro-nazi people. "I am just Nazi-adjacent" isn't really a defense. Also, the Proud Boys marching through DC while it was happening certainly didn't help his case.

Also, the video (or .gif) makes it clear that this wasn't a gesture that was captured at a particularly unfortunate moment in time.

Richard Spencer said the quiet part out loud the last time trumpty plumpty was in office.

DC...I love the guy. He is genuine, intelligent human. We don't see eye to eye on everything, but he does support my tax cuts. And I do miss his insights on here. That's OK, I have a subscription to his private channel.

Considering Eloon's recent tirades and support of questionable individuals/groups; giving him the benefit of the doubt is fine if you want, to but the guy is grade A douchebag and nothing you can tell me about him changes that.

All that said; I feel for admins on any webpage these days. It ain't gonna be easy to get things right and you gotta go with your gut sometimes.

My gut said that I needed to set a precedent yesterday ( one day time out ) that just because your guy is in power does not mean you get to run amok here. And you don't get to blame Democrats for what could happen in the future if things really hit the fan -- own what you've done.

This is one of those things where you should just step back and think about the bigger picture of what you are saying.

You have elected an unaccountable shadow president who, in the MOST charitable light, is so "disabled" that he unintentionally makes gestures that can fairly be criticized to be evocative of Nazism?

It makes no sense to me that Elon didn't rush to say "omg, I'm so sorry. I got excited, this is what i meant..."

Maybe he has said sorry and explained himself and I missed it. But saying nothing does say something.

He has a platform where all he needs to do is spend 2 minutes typing something out. Everyone would see it.

He could have done it instantly.

This by no means is exclusive to the right, but - it's emblematic of the right's adoption of at a very minimum the sentiment behind Stalin's Order No. 227 line, Ni shagu nazad: Not a step back!

cuz I'm an idiot, and wasn't previously familiar with this Order. No. 227. But I'm pretty sure Stalin, issuing a "not a step back" military order, in 1942 of all times, on the Eastern Front of all places, was actually issued to counter the advance of Nazis, rather than normalize it.
