Sounds like Bethea is headed to Miami. Guess he likes mediocrity.
For a visit. I don't see that he committed. Rumors that he has made up his mind while on his Miami visit are just rumors at this time.

I mean they just made a final 4. They've been solid lately. If I was playing one year of college ball, Miami would seem like a fun place to do it

Yeah, I guess so. Not feeling great about our chances, but you never know. We will be fine either way.

McNeely down to us and Indiana now. He may be waiting to see what Flagg does. Strange to be in these recruiting battles with Indiana.

Surly he's not spending NIL money on his alma mater! We have a few with deep pockets as well. I wonder what school has the most wealthy alums?

Unfortunately for Tommy Amaker, it's not just about wealthy alumni.
It's about wealthy alumni who think giving college athletes money is a good use of many millions of dollars.

As near as I can find, everyone who was going to reclassify has already done so and committed elsewhere.

From the Star last month:
https://www.kansascity.com/sports/colle ... 69674.html
Labaron Philon, a 6-foot-4, 175-pound senior point guard from Link Year Academy in Branson, on Monday cut his list of prospective colleges to four: Kansas, Alabama, Cincinnati and Mississippi.
He made the announcement on Joe Tipton’s Twitter account (TiptonEdits).
Philon, who is from Mobile, Alabama, initially committed to Auburn on Feb. 3. He decommitted on April 21 and reopened his recruitment.
Philon — he is ranked No. 27 in the recruiting class of 2024 by 247Sports.com, No. 31 by ESPN.com and No. 37 by Rivals.com — at one time had Tennessee, Houston, LSU, Louisville, Penn State, Arkansas and others on his list.
“Philon plays the game with a lot of swagger,” wrote Andrew Stefaniak of SI.com. “He can distribute the basketball, get to the rim and shoot. His 6-4 frame also helps him to be a lockdown defender. Philon is going to smother smaller guards at the next level.”
Philon as a junior playing for Mobile’s Baker High School won the state’s Mr. Basketball Award last season. He also was Alabama’s Gatorade Player of the Year. He told Tipton he will visit Mississippi on Sept. 15.
Philon averaged 35.0 points a game as a junior and finished the 2022-23 season with 1,075 points. He also contributed 6.0 rebounds and 4.0 assists per game. He’s scored 2,334 points during his high school career according to AL.com.
Noted Jamie Shaw of On3.com: “Labaron Philon is a quick-on-quick lead guard. He has long arms and a projectable frame with wide shoulders. Philon has a quick handle that gets him into the paint. He can knock down a jump shot with 3-point range and consistency. There is a confidence and a competitiveness with Philon. He needs to add strength as he has a slight frame.
“There is upside on the defensive end. He can move his feet guarding the ball and is quick to get into the passing lanes. There is a natural smoothness he has on the ball with an upside to continue getting better.”

KU has received two commitments from players in the class of 2024. Flory Bidunga, a 6-9, 220-pound forward from Kokomo (Indiana) High, announced for KU over Auburn, Duke and Michigan on Aug. 12.
KU is gearing for a big recruiting weekend on Oct. 6-8. Cooper Flagg, the No. 1 player in the class, and Emmanuel Stephen are slated to attend Late Night in the Phog on Friday, Oct. 6, then head to KU’s football game against UCF on Saturday, Oct. 7.
Flagg is a 6-8, 195-pound senior forward from Montverde (Florida) Academy. Stephen is a 7-0, 215-pound senior from Dream City Christian in Glendale, Arizona, who is ranked No. 119 in the class of 2024 by Rivals.com.

Did Self go to Monteverde last Wednesday? Apparently he went to visit McNeeley.
What do you think happened with Flagg?
Maybe Self couldn't convince his parents their son wouldn't witness a teammate rape a girl if he came to KU?
.
