There was a bill introduced here a couple of years ago that stated viagra could only be prescribed for procreation purposes only and needed a wife's written permission.

I thought it was genius.

Not gonna lie, there was a time when, despite our differences, I had no doubt that "conservatives" were, like me, uber patriotic. I don't suffer from that illusion any more. But, I never entertained the idea that a rabid "Conservative" republican like John Bolton would put book sales before doing the right thing in a situation like this.

Fuck John Bolton. He had multiple opportunities to do the right thing and didn't, and then this, today.





And when you think that other people who had so much more at risk than Bolton stepped up and did their patriotic duty, i.e., the right thing, Bolton should be ashamed.

I seem to recall multiple times where bills were introduced that required women who were on government assistance to have their tubes tied after having a second or third child.

None of them passed, but that wasn't exactly the point, either.

I also seem to recall that the co-founder of Planned Parenthood used to campaign for laws mandating the forced sterilization of those whom she referred to as "mongrels," (among other things).

Some of them DID pass -- and were signed by Democratic governors who then went on to become Democratic presidents -- but I don't suppose that was exactly the point either?
